I'm missing many 4SQ 250 point bonuses over the past 30 days. My 4SQ history shows all the check-ins, but many are missing from having credited my account.

Most seem to post with 2 or 3 days from checkout, or at least they were, then things changed.

When i contact customer service via email I get the same canned reply about posting can take up to 21 days, etc. This is strange to me, since the awards were posting within a few days after check-out; but not now (for me).

This has nothing to do with linking your Foursquare account to Facebook. Under the first promotion, you have to link your SPG account to Foursquare. Under the second promotion, you have link your SPG account to Facebook. You are NOT required to link your Foursquare account to Facebook (although you can do that, too).

thx!
1. Click on the link in post #353. Then, click where it says "Get started by signing in to your SPG account" on the right side of the page and follow the directions from there.

2. Yes, if you check in using the mobile app for BOTH sites. Per the T&Cs: "Only one Facebook and/or Foursquare check-in per property per member per 24-hour time period."

I really wish SPG was a little clearer on the "official" venues. It looks I have two in a user-generated (and far more popular) venue that is not the official venue. I have to wait 2-3 weeks for SPG to investigate (even if I provided specifics of the problem with their vague instructions and the details of my check-ins). Oh well, we'll see what happens.

That's not SPG's fault. It's an artifact of Foursquare's interface.

The fact that SPG includes zero details about the "Special" tag and what to look for on various mobile clients is, in fact, SPG's fault. For those of us that are new to foursquare, it is a very foreign concept.

When the Facebook promotion starts on Friday, I am not aware of any designation that would make "official" places stand out.

I had never used Foursquare before this promo. It took about three seconds to figure it out. The real problem is that anyone can create a location with any name anywhere they want. And even some of the "official" locations are miles from the actual location.

My issue was my first check-in did not have the "Special" tag on it nor did I know to look for such a tag. My second check-in (to a different hotel hundreds of miles away) had the "Special" tag and I thought about the first one. At that point, I simply thought the first property simply didn't participate in the promotion, as they had no marketing materials in the lobby and SPG did not publish a list about participating properties (as they normally would have some type of statement, as many have complained here about).

This is definitely an issue with foursquare, but SPG could do a much, MUCH better job on "spelling it out" for those of us that are new to the platform. In my case, the first hotel I checked in at had 5 venues ... the official one was the 4th most popular (and was 14x less popular than the first one listed when checking in). SPG should honor all check-ins that were performed at non-official venues due to their liberal assumptions and lack of descriptive information on this promotion ... still waiting to see if that will happen, though.

How would they get information regarding a check-in at a FS location they don't own?

The T&C say they get your complete venue history from Foursquare, so SPG gets to see every checkin you make. But it's still not realistic for them to sift through thst information to see if you checked into an "unofficial" property.

Exactly the question I was going to ask - I checked in on Foursquare (promo unlocked page/sign/icon appeared) 15 minutes after midnight on the day after I was supposed to check in. Three weeks+ on, and the Foursquare points still haven't arrived. They've arrived in all my other check-ins (8+).

Ironically, it's the same hotel where I did my first Foursquare check in during the SPG promo and unlocked a free night (Sheraton Saigon - thanks, by the way!). Should I call the hotel?

Thanks in advance!

I would imagine that sending SPG customer support a screenshot of your foursquare check-ins would also be sufficient. Not every SPG customer contacts them about missing points, but I would imagine that most FT SPG members do and most know to include screenshots with everything. My email to them was very detailed and even had recommendations for them to pass on to Marketing.

I've had a number of FS check-ins that didn't post normally. I sent the details to Lurker with info on the property, date, conf number. Within a few days, all posted without fail.

Not sure why some properties consistantly fail to post without Lurker's prompt intervention while some automatically post the next day?

cheers,
