Thanks. To clarify I'm booked in plus. Just want to try to get seats together if my upgrade bid is not successful.

As mentioned above, you can check in to get your Plus seats, and this will have no impact on whether the upgrade bid is successful or not. Your bid can go through quite late, at T-6 hours, for instance.

Not sure if this knew, but it’s the first time I noticed it. There is a “notify if someone outbids me”. It’s a bit disingenuous since this doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t win a bid, just that some are bidding higher than you?

I routinely bid the minimum and have yet to be notified.

Same as me. But then I wonder since I am EBD and get the booster whether that makes a difference regarding notification?

Most of my flights are C > 5 shortly before my bid is accepted, so maybe the notification would trigger if the outbidder would bump you down the list beyond the number of available seats.

I severely doubt that... no product manager in his right mind would something like that. While great for the customer, it defeats the purpose of the feature to lure people into bidding higher and spending more points to secure their upgrade.

Given that the purpose of this notification is to get people to increase their bids because someone else has made a bid that gives them a higher chance of upgrade, I'm not sure how a more complex set of metrics (bid amount, flight load, previous bid history, etc) to trigger the notification than just bid amount defeats the purpose of the whole feature.

I guess we have worked with different PMs :)

SK 973 (CPH-BKK)
45000 points
Go to Business ✅️

Semi-spontaneous travel. Was planning to spend a week over there to get some warmth and use up some points (still not anywhere near touching my EB Millionaire balance). Round-trip ended up costing only $800 in SAS Go Pro, so decided I would pay cash and get the 2x Level and Bonus points instead. Yes, the earthquake was unfortunate, but as Bangkok was only lightly hit, decided to follow through with my spontaneous getaway. Besides, earthquakes don't usually operate on a schedule. Flight had plenty of availability, and I am guessing the earthquake had something to do with that. (ETA: SAS managed to sell out SAS Business with airport upgrades).

Strange with this one because I got notified that I won the bid 30 hours before departure. However, the system somehow borked itself and took my points without upgrading my seat. Rang the call centre and they advised me to just go to the airport to fix it because they didn't know what to do.. When I got to Copenhagen they managed to fix it in five minutes and gave me my boarding pass with the upgrade. However, now I can longer see my itinerary, although they "promise" it's there. I'm just going with the flow, considering I only thought to plan this trip five days ago. And besides, SAS is gonna SAS 🫠 Actually, I am starting to appreciate just how much effort SAS gate agents, CSRs, and others must put into finding workarounds for IT systems that probably are no longe fit for purpose.

SK 974 (BKK-CPH)45000 pointsGo to Business ✅️

Upgrade cleared at T-24. They still never fixed the visibility issue with my booking, so didn't know my seat until I checked in at the airport self-service kiosk. I am hoping Row 10 are decent seats.

Decided to use points over cash since I need to draw down my balance a bit. However, about 50% of that will be subsidised thanks to the 2x bonus points promotion and the 75% EBD bonus

Hoping that the TPAC service back to Scandinavian is as good as the ride out.

I'd be surprised if SK974 went out over the Pacific. Even with Russian and Ukrainan airspace closed, going "the wrong way" can't possibly be feasible from Bangkok....

They don’t, they take the route via India and Middle East:

I srand corrected.

But my main point was to hope that the service in the opposite direction was just as good as CPH-BKK. Was not disappointed 🙌🏾

So it seems like SAS are now broadly implementing their new libe bidding feature.

For those who haven't seen it, it basically takes you bids and ranks it against other bids (but I still have so many questions...). It also shows you the highest bid and the timer.

This is what it looks like...

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c44a0b1772.png

It is implemented on the website and the app.

I guess the days of T-24 hour confirmations are gone 🫠

Also, to whomever is bidding >100k points to get into SAS Business - you deserve that seat for that price. Enjoy it 🙌🏾😀

I still only see the old experience.
