Bid was 18th, only 1 seat open... was upgraded.

CPH to ATL, emails said I was outbid and ranked 18th. I ended up getting the upgrade to Business! Weird.

Slightly off topic.
I want to hear your opinion. So I got (paid) seat 40B on the A330-300. It's a exit row aisle seat.
What do you guys prefer. The seat I got or a middle seat E in premium economy?
I'm in doubt, should I just keep this seat of risking spending points of a middle seat in premium economy.
It's a flight from CPH to LAX.

It is a long flight... I will probably bid for an upgrade as the seat is more comfortable. However, with SAS economy is often empty whereas premium cabins are full... :) So you could also check the load and make up your mind..

Personally, on a daytime flight, I would not pay to risk middle seat in premium economy (unless the other perks like drinks are important to you). Had it been a nighttime flight, I might have considered.

Successful bid
CPH - LAX
Econony to Premium economy
17200 points

Placed the bid two days ago. Was ranked 9 when the live bid was live. I ended at rank 11 so I already lost any hope, but still got the winning bid.
Weak bid, outbid blabla. Minimum bid right before close was like 20000 points. Somehow still won.

01jan / CPH >> ARN.

I won with the minimum bid.

Since this isn’t domestic per se. I only got 250 level points per the chart I should have gotten 500 level points as this is business class.

thoughts ?

31 dec / LAX >> CPH.

bid minimum of 8000 sek. They pushed the mimik to higher. But never changed it. Got the upgrade prior to check in.

never trust the minimum bids after the fact. I suspect it’s just an Al trying to maximize what you are willing to pay.

I refuse to pay more than about 100USD per hour. For Y to J upgrade.

Side question. If you pay for economy seat and get upgraded. Do you get a seat refund?

If you paid for the bid in cash (credit card), and earn on Eurobonus, then yes your should have gotten 500 level points with the winning bid. If you bid with points, or accrue to another program, then nothing.

I reckon with the dynamic bidding now, even a 100K bid will be "weak" :D

Long-haul Y is decent when compared to the competition out there, definitely better than AY :tu:
