Apologies if this is an obvious question. If I bid for plus on the A330, is it not very likely that I would end up in a middle seat that nobody wants anyway?
if it makes any difference we are a group of three on one PNR; one person is STE+, the other two have no status. Thanks for your advice! |

It is a random chance dependent on the type of groups flying but which seats do you think are less likely to be occupied? :) Your group is also likely to be separated.
Will cancel the bids once "My Trips" starts responding again... |

Only noticed this few minutes ago. All my short haul bids are less than allowed minimum now. I bid a few flights DUB-CPH €50-€60, it was about €20 more than the minimum.
Now minimum bids are €110-€130. Mad. |

We had the same. Have a cash booking out in C, return in Y, booked as separate tickets. When I booked on Saturday I placed a bid for 6000 for the return flight (min bid was 5k). Went into my partners booking a couple days later, his min bid was 13k and mine now has same message.

Interesting - I’m now seeing this as well. I noticed that when I placed my deliberately low ball bid for my first international flight in short haul business in early October that the app was still pricing/describing the upgrade as Plus. I’m not going to touch it - since recent discussions in this thread confirm that there is no rhyme or reason to bids being accepted! miles (not including EBD booster). This was just above minimum bid when I booked the flight anf upgrade was marketed to Plus. Upgrade prices revised a couple of weeks ago, they stayed steady at €140/11,000 points all week, still won it. That was my last short haul booking that I bid on at the old Go/Plus prices. |
As an EBD, I bidded the upgrade (w/points) without success ATL-CPH from Plus to Business in September. How SAS credits, if upgraded, bonus and level points now after 1st Oct?

CPH-BOS
Plus to Business ✅️ Bid: 3650 sek Decided to use cash since this was relatively low. The amount was 100 sek above rhe minimum(excluding EBD boost). There were 14 seats in Biz at the time I bid, there were six (6) sears remaining after I was notified at T-24 and no live auction. I am quite certain SAS will put those remaining seats up for live auction. SAS still performs dark magic when it comes to upgrades so I got nothing when it comes to explaining why my bid won. |
I will be flying SK936 SFO-CPH this Friday and wondering if I should update my bid from Plus to Business. My original bid was made when the minimum bid was at 450USD, but now it's risen to 580USD. Based on the results upthread, I was going to hold with my current bid even though it's noted as being below the current minimum amount, but with SK indicating only 6 seats left (ExpertFlyer is showing 14 unselected seats, so I'm assuming 8 people just haven't paid to select their seats), it doesn't seem likely that there will be many unsold seats when check-in starts. Worth upping the bid now or wait until T-30 hrs to see what the actual seat availability looks like?

SAS closes out the bidding entirely at T-6. So generally speaking, everything is open until that time. You can keep your bid and monitoring what is happening. SAS won't retract your bid, you'll just likely lose the bid unless something else happens (status impact, business decision by SAS, etc). What I have sometimes seen is that SAS makes some initial upgrade decisions at around T-24 if your bid is deemed high enough and acceptable to SAS. Anything not allocated at that time goes to Live Bidding / Auction. When there is low inventory in business, I have also seen them go directly to Live Bidding. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck! |
Ok... I just don't understand SAS.
Booked in premium plus T-24.5 got a notification that my bid wasn't accepted. Seat map went from 12 free seats to 6. So I guess some bids (as others reported) were accepted. Pushed into live bidding where I increased my bid slightly 30,000 (min = 28,000) to 3X,XXX putting me at #7 (with the maximum bid at 55,000)... quite odd given the unicorn price of a regular biz ticket is 50K Tonight I have watched the seat map fill up to just 1 seat left. But expert flyer still shows C6. What are they hoping for... sell the seats and downgrade those they upgraded? I am guessing the system is just slow (or unable) to catch up and knows they aren't going to sell 6 seats at less than 24 hours. But it gives me hope that maybe the seat map isn't accurate? Expert flyer used to show blocked vs. taken seats. Is that the case? I know.. I am wishing for something that isn't going to happen. But still... very odd IT. |

If so, maybe SK does the same thing that LOT does close-in on their flights - shows only 1 or 2 seats in each cabin nowadays... |
