1 more question: when I bid for an upgrade and the bid will be accepted, will I get the miles and XP from business or originally booked premium?

There are people on this forum whom I believe are in the travel business that have access to actual seats available on a particular flight. If you want an accurate count perhaps post and see if anyone replies. Or call SAS and see if they will tell you.
I just got notified of my bid upgrade T-24.5 hrs. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d398c5da89.png |

You were correct, there are about 8 business seats left for my LAX-CPH flight.

Congrats on securing the upgrade. The lie flat seat is so nice to have for an overnight flight. Business class seats on my mid-June flight to CPH are sold out, but I see 13 seats available for selection; meaning a lot of people like me not willing to pay 100-130 euro per segment to select a seat. I've flown long haul business in VS, LX and even sister airline AF and not had to pay for seat selection.

Thanks, when they upgraded me, they assigned a seat at no cost but I changed it to 8H for bit more peace.

If the bid system says my bid is #2 and the flight is C5 I should have a decent shot at the upgrade, no?

Depends quite a bit on what type of fares you book but with most airlines, seat selection now comes at an additional cost, unless you are holding a high status.

No high status with any of these 3 airlines. Haven't looked to see if policies have changed but travel was during 2023 and 2025 period.
