Sorry for going off topic, but ExpertFlyer tells me they don't have SAS seat maps. How did you see it, or what am I doing wrong?
If you have a connection, you have to put in each leg separately. |
Hi Folks- just a quick question about bidding. I am a Silver member and have bid on an upcoming flight. I see that Silver benefit gives a 10% higher bid to a higher travel class. I bid with money and it shows that amount on the current bid. Is the 10% benefit calculated behind the scenes to calculate a true bid value? Possibly people just assume it happens. Thanks!

Afrer bidding on over a dozen flights, I have to say that I don't know the answer. For example, three weeks ago I put in a bid for 5000kr. I was toold I was outbid with the new highest bid being 6250kr. Which I didn't understand because I am Eurobonus Diamond so I have a 30% boost should my bid was technically 6500kr. Even though there were 8 seats for sale and I was ranked 5th, I lost the bid. I didn't mind because it was only to JFK ans a daytime flight. Other times I have refused to move from the minimum bid and still won. It's all forms of dark magic. Or I think SAS intentionally leaves it a bit vague so that they can award upgrades on factors other than highest bid amount. Other people's experiences will vary. Good luck with your bid. |

I make my bids based on what EF shows for availability and my desire to be in a lie-flat. My company policy won't cover PY or C, but they will cover most of my bid amounts so that also factors in. |
I have tried flying with a companion on a separate ticket, same booking class, same bid amount, where EB silver got the upgrade, and EB gold did not.
I have also tried bidding, losing, and upgrading at the airport for less than the bid. Their algorithm is a mystery. |
Only noticed this few minutes ago. All my short haul bids are less than allowed minimum now. I bid a few flights DUB-CPH €50-€60, it was about €20 more than the minimum.
Now minimum bids are €110-€130. Mad.:eek: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...122370e36f.jpg |
12/5 SFO-CPH or LAX-CPH
For Friday 12/5 I can book a Plus ticket on either LAX-CPH (330) or SFO-CPH (350) (continuing later to TLV). Any thoughts on which flight might offer the best chance to do a purchased upgrade, or are both routes generally so premium heavy I should expect to just ride in Plus?

I noticed that when I placed my deliberately low ball bid for my first international flight in short haul business in early October that the app was still pricing/describing the upgrade as Plus. I’m not going to touch it - since recent discussions in this thread confirm that there is no rhyme or reason to bids being accepted! |

We had the same. Have a cash booking out in C, return in Y, booked as separate tickets. When I booked on Saturday I placed a bid for 6000 for the return flight (min bid was 5k). Went into my partners booking a couple days later, his min bid was 13k and mine now has same message.

Same here, VIE-CPH had minimum bid at just 3000 points, so since I had little below 4000 left in my account, I figured I'll use them all on the potential bid. Now the minimum bid went up to 11000, so I'm curious to see what happens. I'm not gonna touch it though, the cash bids will now start at around 150 EUR which is beyond ridiculous (for comparision, my usually succesful A3 bids are below 100 EUR even for flights blocked at 3:30 hrs, with service far superior to whatever SK will presumably be offering in euro-J).

Same on CPH<->ZRH.
From 330 DKK or 5000 points to now 1200 DKK or 13000 points. It went from what I would consider from time to time, to not even considering it in any way anymore. I can report my first successful points bid upgrade in a while now: BOS-CPH bid 28500 points (minimum was 28000) Plus to Business for 2 passengers as EBD. No live bidding. 6 seats for sale according to SAS. Ended up full. Notified 6 hours before departure. |
CPH-LHR in a few days is still DKK610 or 6,000 EB points.

Before or after Oct 1st?

Apologies if this is an obvious question. If I bid for plus on the A330, is it not very likely that I would end up in a middle seat that nobody wants anyway?
if it makes any difference we are a group of three on one PNR; one person is STE+, the other two have no status. Thanks for your advice! |
