Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?
Details and changes can be found in the various recent threads.

As to other routes NO ONE KNOWS!

I repeat NO ONE KNOWS!! so do not ask!

Thank you for replying, in my case the entire seat map is greyed out - every seat is effectively not selectable which seems quite odd. Almost like the map is blocked for assignments? I fully expect it reverts to the old 777 as the latest QSuites release for DOH - HKG and vice versa take effective after my flight (hence the return is a confirmed QSuite and I have selected my seat). Just it seems odd that no selection is available.

EDIT - Just looking at this on expert flyer it seems the issue is that all seats are occupied or blocked. So the blocked seats I understand (the quads) and the other blocks I assume are standard (like 1A). So I guess I should probably call QR to try and get at least some seat assigned. Given there seems to be pretty much no choice!

This aircraft now seems to have swapped for a QSuite 777. The problem is this change occurred around a month ago and clearly my assigned seat no longer existed on the aircraft which was then removed.

The problem is that the entire seat map is greyed out, no seat is selectable and even looking on Check my trip it shows the something. Is this usual? Do QR lock the seat maps when they make such a change - I would have thought it would have opened up by now for selection? For what its worth, the return 777 changed to QSuite too and allows me to select my seat just fine.

You don't say which DOH-HKG flight on 10/25/18, but EF shows that one has nothing available, while the other has good seats. I'd call QR. They may be able to put you in 1A or 2B, 11B, 11J, or at least add a note to ask the airport to assign you. Worst case you may end up in a quad. It looks like 2D is a solo traveler in a quad. Also, set some EF alerts as seats may open up between now and October 25th. Plus, the blocked seats may become assignable a few weeks before the flight.

Here are the seat maps. QR816:

And QR818, which has some great seats available:

Hi, a question to someone who flew in the Qsuites on the 777-300:
Is the row 1EF any worse than 3EF?
There are no lavs or kitchen on the other side of the wall so I'm not afraid of the sounds, but when I watched some YouTube videos they seem to be a bit narrower in the shoulder part - am I right or this only seems like this on the video?
Did someone maybe took some detailed pictures of 1EF and any other EF for comparison? Thanks!

In my opinion, the only downside to 1EF is that there is no overhead bin (due to the flight deck crew rest above).

I flew into FRA in 3EF this morning and had a great night sleep. Mrs Amy thought the new beds are a little harder than the old version, I had no complaints.

could it be that seat plans have not been loaded for the winter schedule? I'm hoping to fly DOH-ORD/IAH in late november. I prefer flying into ORD so I hope ORD keeps the QSuites past Oct 27th.

As per recent discussion with station manager, Qsuite introduction to HKG has been planned and then postponed at least twice. It should now start early October. I am on QR817 on 10 October and it plans Qsuites.
Just call QR to get a seat assigned and check periodically as the chance to revert to an old 77W is significant.

I just checked Expertflyer for October 28. The status changed to "The requested information could not be retrieved or is not available. This is likely due to invalid input criteria or lack of access to the information from the airline. Please revise the search parameters and try again. " I also checked on November 27 "The airline is not displaying a seat map for this flight because it is under airport control. "

This is a new one. Not sure if it's a glitch or we'll see the updated schedule soon.

Thank you very much - greatly appreciated. I am on the one with nothing available sadly! I will take your advice and give QR a call and see what they can do - the thing is I was Che king this fairly regularly before the aircraft swapped from an old 777 to a QSuite 777. So I am slightly perplexed how I ended up with no seat to be honest.

Starting September 3, QSuite will be on the A350-900 to/from JFK, so JFK will be all-QSuite.

Thanks for this update. Looks like the seat map on Expert Flyer is only updated showing this change through 10/27. Guessing that's because the winter schedule starts 10/28 and they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Husband and I are booked to fly QR704 in November. Booked in 5E/5F so it will be interesting if they keep us in those seats if they switch to Q Suites (since they are part of a quad I think).

I don't think all the flight on 350-900 to/from JFK will have Qsuite as I am scheduled to fly on Sept 23rd and it still show the old seats configuration

This is great news! Now we just have to cross our fingers that they can properly allocate the equipment and not suffer too many last minute changes. I noticed along with that change is that QR674/5 DOH/MLE are also Qsuites... Looks like as of 03SEP the 48 hour A350-941 Qsuite rotation will be follows across the only two equipped aircraft:

QR703: DOH-JFK D: 01:55AM A:08:40AM
QR704: JFK-DOH D: 10:40AM A:05:55AM
QR674: DOH-MLE D: 08:15AM A:03:15PM
QR675: MLE-DOH D: 08:20PM A:11:20PM

No room for error or maintenance. The reason the plane is on the ground for five hours at MLE in the Maldives is not for maintenance but rather to line up for all the sea plane connections that come in to MLE from all the various resorts. There is a small chance that next equipped A350-941 which should have Qsuites that is currently in production (A7-AME) could come online by then but I can't image they would modify schedules counting on that.

I noticed this too. It doesn't look like the JFK A359 flights on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday get Qsuites until 02OCT.

This info is spot on with what ashbjr reported hearing from JFK ground crew that starting in October all JFK flights will be Qsuites.
