Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

There are 2 business class sections separated by the galley in A359. Rows 1 to 6 in the first section, 7 to 9 in the back one. You should be fine, unless you mind the proximity of the galley to 6B.

There's no galley between the sections, it's a standing bar area.

Are you sure you’re taking about qsuite A359 or reverse herringbone one? I guess OP is intersted in the qsuite set-up.

Sort of. There's a countertop, which will have a fruit basket and maybe a bottle of champagne with a couple of glasses. Not to be confused with the bar/lounge on the 380.

Could I get seat recommendations for the quads on the A350-900?

3 EF is gone for one of the legs but other than that, all free. Thanks!

I was in an A350-900 with Q Suites last week and for me that whole boarding area between sections is a galley? No countertop/open area like in the previous configuration.

Actually, that rings a bell. You could well be right there! Maybe I'm confusing my A350's.

Is it Friday yet?

Indeed. That's why I called it standing bar area, rather than an actual bar/lounge. Still a nice place to spend a while with a glass of something & good company though.

We were on the A350-900 last week in 7E and F, next to the galley , as they were the only "couple seats" available after we were rebooked on this flight. The galley surprisingly did not cause any noise issues, however I would go with a seat front of the galley, as we were directed to the front of the plane for the restrooms.

Just recognised by chance (checkin in checkmytrip) the annoying change from QSuite to NO Qsuite for 2 out of 4 flights, one is tomorrow :-(
Of course no any notice from QR! The "funny" thing for tomorrows flight, the assigned (and already checked in) seat is NOT available in the aircraft....and no chance to change as all seats are occupied / blocked.
QR, QR, QR ........

From April onwards, it is showing no Qsuites.

Any thoughts on why this has happened? Or is it just because they are working on their summer schedule so they’ve moved planes around temporarily? Or has my dream of experiencing Qsuites evaporated before my own eyes?!
I just checked my July DOH to MLE flight and it once again flipped back to Qsuites so you may be back in luck!

I'm in the same boat. My DOH-MLE and MLE-DOH filghts in June and July have switched 3 times now. Back to Qsuites at the moment. Hopefully it sticks.

Will I be in a Qsuite?

I will be flying 4 QR flights soon, all in J. Can anyone confirm that I will (or will not) be on Quites?

QR740 LAX-DOH on 772L. EF seat map shows 11 rows x 4 seats. Do seats 3A & 4A have full window(s)?
QR31 DOH-EDI on A359. EF seat map shows 9 rows x 4 seats.
QR 32 EDI-DOH on A359. Same as above.
QR19 DOH-DUB on 788. ED shows 5 rows x 4 seats PLUS Row 6 has only 2 middle seats. Are these Qsuites?

Thank you very much.

Same, just noticed our flight on May 18 (DOH -> MLE) went QSuites, so snagged 5 E/F for me and my wife. It's our honeymoon, and she was bummed not to be able to try the new seats, so was a nice surprise -- though I know not to keep my hopes up!

Also, randomly, we apparently got lucky MXP -> DOH on our connecting 77W going QSuites as well (grabbed 3 E/F)...
