Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Is there any difference in the length of specific seats?
I just got off QR726 on a 77W, and I was very underwhelmed with the seat. It has great width, but at 6'2" I was unable to sleep on my back without my feet and head touching the ends of the bed. Pretty uncomfortably to be honest. I felt the Delta One Suite on the A350 was more comfortable

I received the email also and it announced "Award-Winning Qsuite has arrived in Los Angeles: We are proud to announce that Qatar Airways' highly-anticipated new Business Class seat is now flying from Los Angeles (LAX)."
And today A7-BBF is making the journey - which of course does not have Qsuites. Go figure.

I've just been swapped from A35K to A332. Don't you love equipment changes and never for the better!
Had another flight swap A318 to A320 last week too (not QR of course) missed out on my 1st A318 and now likely missing my first A35K. Always the way...
Oh well could be worse. J in the A332 not to be complained about though really.

Qsuites experience
Had my first flight in Q-Suite from IAD to DOH and then DOH to LHE in January. Then return was from DOH to IAD in Q-Suite. What an awesome experience. Amount of space and attention to detail in the Q-Suite is amazing. Service was wonderful. Our flight 707 from DOH to IAD on January 29 was absolutely the best flight i have ever taken. So comfortable and the whole crew serving the business class was absolutely 5 star but the crew member who served me was especially brilliant. I don't know if we are allowed to name names here but she was a gem. Have flown all major international carriers in biz but after flying in Q-Suite, everything else looks ordinary.
There is Q-Suite and then there is everything else. Really looking forward to fly again in December.

On the Qatar website, it mentions Maldives as one of the routes with Qsuites. A few weeks back, I was checking Expert Flyer’s seat maps and it was showing Qsuites, however that has now changed and it is only showing Qsuites up until the end of March on the DOH - MLE route. From April onwards, it is showing no Qsuites.
Any thoughts on why this has happened? Or is it just because they are working on their summer schedule so they’ve moved planes around temporarily? Or has my dream of experiencing Qsuites evaporated before my own eyes?!

To anyone, including myself, getting obsessed with flying Q-Suites. During our recent trip with my wife we have experienced Q-Suite 3 times (redye flight with the combined bed flying on backwards seats, daytime flight on the forward facing middle seats, solo window seats etc.). And while shutting your 'suite' does indeed give you more privacy, and fancy plastic doors with red DND sign, there are other minor things to consider. A divider between seats did not closed down properly, after it did, at some point during early morning, motors under the seat were stuck, fixed only after crew brainstorming resulting the reset of the seat. Also, during night time, with doors being fully closed, it gets really warm in the cabin, no air flow whatsoever and as you don't have individual vents, if you are picky - you can not sleep. And, after trying various combinations multiple times, the verdict was - the reverse herring bone configuration on the A-350-900 was the most comfortable flight, with open cabin, adequate air supply and a great comfy 'old' seat. Shockingly so, but its just our honest opinion.
