Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

But, of course, with QR anything can happen, even swapping out the 388.
Booked today and went with the 777 on both the outbound and return - choosing a seat it showed q suites so hopefully nothing will change..

On the outbound DOH > SYD all seats were blocked so I had to call up and get them to unblock a seat .. currently selected 4D as all window seats taken...

is there any preferences for middle block seats ?

I found this "guide" quite helpful: https://onemileatatime.com/best-qsuites-seat/

cargo website?
I went there (check routing page) and it does show an alphabet character after the 777, but does anyone knows what for example (777) N, P or L means?
How do you know it's a triple 7 with qsuite installed? Because of the plane reg nr vs the info from the first post/topic starter?

If everything stays as it is, 'm gonna fly q-suite AMS-DOH/QR274 on the 26th next week. I have booked my J ticket a week ago and until now, I checked expertflyer everyday and it keeps showing a seat map with q-suite...but i did found out QR still schedules the old biz config on average 1-3 days a week.

I have flown with SQ a350 biz class which seems to look a lot like the q-suite. Can I expect the same experience with QR compared to SQ?

I just booked a flight where all A / K are occupied except for 1A. 1A is blocked (based on EF), can't select onlineA, and I highly prefer a window seat. Any chance they would be willing to assign to me? I am a OWE if it helps. First time on QR. Are they responsive on Twitter to such requests or should I call?

You can use whichever method you prefer. Personally, I use EF and simply check the seat map for a specific flight on a specific day.

I got this response, both on Twitter and on the phone:

First row seats are excluded from pre-selection due to safety reasons and are assigned at the check-in counter.
You need to request for these extra legroom seats at the check-in counter on the day of departure. Thanks.

Qsuites DOH - ORD

This may be a SeatGuru problem, but...

I am flying back from JNB to ORD in May. Given my travel patterns, this would probably be my only reasonable chance to be in Qsuites, which I would love to experience. On QR, the option is the DOH - ORD leg on QR 725. Everything that I have seen says that this route is a Qsuites flight. The Expedia preview says that it is Q Suites. However, SeatGuru is consistently showing it with the old configuration (any date that I search).

While I certainly understand that equipment swaps are always possible, should I expect that this will be a Qsuites flight?

It is 100% Qsuites, as advertised on the QR website. The only chance that is not the case is due to a MX on the original plane, forcing a swap to a non Qsuite plane. Very unlikely, since they are advertising the Qsuites on the route now.

SeatGuru is no longer reliably updated, and should not be taken seriously. You should be able to see the actual seatmap through 'Manage booking' on qatarairways.com, and there is nothing more authoritative than that.
