Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Just flew ARN-DOH on the 2-2-2 MiniPods and then DOH-SYD for my first QSuite experience. The QSuite is fabulous in every respect bar one. Like most modern business class seats, if you're over 6 feet tall, either your foot room or your knee room is limited. In this case, the foot space isn't too bad, but you can't lie back and pull your knees up, and you can't easily roll from back to side. I would still choose the QSuite for most flights, but if I just needed to get on a plane and sleep uninterrupted, it's MiniPod every time. I slept for 6 hours in the QSuite, but woke up 4 times because of the knee space issues.
All that said, it really is a winner. If I were a few inches shorter, there'd be no contest in any respect. Well done QR -- though the boss won't be happy with a couple of blemishes in the suites on A7-BEM.

I'm 5'8" and thin, so these things aren't a problem for me; although I can see that they could easily become problematical for people who are larger. I'm wondering if AAB (who is slight and far from tall) tested the prototypes himself and used his own experience as a standard. I like the regular J 1-2-1 product on the 359s just as much as the QSuite. I find it very comfortable.

And conversely, I am 5'4 and I found the seat so uncomfortable because it doesnt have the calves rest (the other seats have) and my feet don't reach the footrest. So they are left dangling with no support. I had to put my feet on the rolled up blanket. Such a disappointment when every other aspect is great.

I tried that too! Obviously only designed for a medium high (not shorties or tallies)

Normally there should be a button for moving forward the seat without having to recline the backrest...I did use it to comem more close to the table during meal service.

On the 4 legs of one of the longest flights in the network, I was as usual very satisfied seat-wise on the first 3 legs (OSL-DOH-AKL-DOH). The last leg to ARN was on an A351 with Qsuites, a first for me: this was the most uncomfortable flight among the four, due to my inability to find an independent adjustable leg rest. Is there such a feature in the Qsuite (and I was too drunk to find it)?

My wife and I are on DOH-ORD in a couple weeks and currently have 3EF selected. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the final row/minicabin (11EF on the 77W), where there is no quad configuration so it seems more private but is also right next the galley/lavs. Thanks!

You seem to be in luck! EF shows 77L with Qsuites on December 21st, 23d, 24th, 25th. The 20th is a 77W with 2-2-2 configuration, the 22nd and 26th through February 5th are showing 77L with 2-2-2.

Be aware that seat maps and load factor may be different. It's fairly common for people to be booked on a flight without a seat assignment. EF will show seats for sale in various booking codes, including J for full-fare business, up to a maximum (typically 7 or 9 depending on how EF performs the query).
