Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?
Details and changes can be found in the various recent threads.

As to other routes NO ONE KNOWS!

Unfortunately, the reality is that QR doesn't care about IT systems regarding how partner awards are seen in their website.
Revenue tickets booked with QR and award tickets issued by Privilege Club doesn't haves the same issue and this issue is something related to your ticket being a partner award.
Same thing applies for the seat selection issue.

The pop-up does not mean anything and you could ignore it.
There is no need to panic. You would be fine at the airport.

A lot of carriers have issues showing partner reservations (EK is one of them) so not really a QR specific problem.

Fair enough, maybe I am worrying over nothing. However, i cant actually see my seats or the actual flights. The pop up blocks you from being able to scroll down. I can just see the part that shows destination and final city and the times but not the 2 actual segments or times or seats. I guess I can see that its confirmed on AA app so thats good for now.

Looking for some advice. We are flying DOH-SFO on the A350K next week, seems like all double bed E/F seats are taken. As a couple, is it better to a grab a D/G without double bed, or 5A/6B?
We are currently assigned 2D/G.

Thank you.

D&G isnt a bad compromise. You'll just have the storage space between you guys. As a note tho, keep in mind that QR reserves the EF seats until you get to the counter so dont be surprised if you will be able to get the EF seats at time of checkin. Thats happebed with us a couple of times before I got Platinum status (Platinum allows you to book any seat :-)).

Depends if you plan on chatting. I'm happy to not chat with my travel companions so I would do A/B but if you want to talk, you need to stand up whereas with D/G you can lower the partition.

EF shows blocked seats with an X. Seats in blue are assigned to pax. Your flight looks very full.
But with covid raging again in Asia and Africa, pax might cancel their flights.
I suggest putting an alert on EF or checking frequently to see if some E&F become free.

Have you tried the Qatar Airways mobile app? I have not had a problem with the popup in the mobile app, just on the website. You should be able to input your QR PNR into the app without an account, and then click on manage booking to see any confirmed seat assignments.

Thx for suggestion.. I finally got around the Contact info pop up issue by going to Fin Air and they asked me for my contact info. After doing that I can now see my entire reservation on QR site with no issues whatsoever. Of course I cant see a seat map or change seats since its an AA award booking but I'm quite happy with 3K so its all good.

We currently have 3A, 4B and 5A booked on JFK-DOH 359-1000 for the 3 of us. This will be our first Qsuites flight. Would like advice on: (1)Should the 2 of us switch to EF middle seats? Will the lack of air nozzles be a bother? (2) If we do choose middle seats, is row 3 better than 5 or vice versa? (3) It seems that rear-facing seats bother some folks - how big a deal is it? Thanks!

I have never flown on middle-seats on an A350 so I wouldn't be able to comment on questions 1 & 2 but for question 3, you shouldn't be bothered about rear-facing seats, it's not bothering as you might think of.

My spouse and I always fly QR EF pairs. How much of an issue the lack of air nozzles will be depends on how sensitive you are to heat. I am usually too hot on planes, so I find the Airbus Qsuite pairs stifling, but, sometimes the cabin crew will lower the temperature a bit if asked, and after the meal service I take off my shirt and sleep bare-chested and bare-footed, which helps a lot. People who are often cold on planes probably will find the EF pairs very comfy.

787-9 psuedo-Qsuite

My spouse and I flew a 787-9 pseudo-Qsuite recently. I realize QR doesn't want to lie and call this a Qsuite, so they're calling it "Business Suite." The good news: there are center bins and air nozzles over the center seats! Now the bad: In my view, whoever designed this managed to destroy what was good about the Qsuite while enhancing its problems. To me, the #1 benefit of Qsuite is privacy. I sleep better being in what seems like a private suite, just me or just me and my spouse, not on view or exposed. Well, the 787-9 "Business Suite" had such low walls and doors that while in bed or recline mode, I clearly saw the faces of everyone passing in the aisle. Kind of the opposite of privacy. Other benefits of Qsuite include ample storage pockets, and at least in the 77W model, decent personal space; one can stand up in the Qsuite, and can enter/exit when in bed mode. Well, the 787-9 "Business Suite" is tiny! Zero storage pockets, none! The only spaces are the space where QR puts the headphones, in the seat console behind a latching door, and a small floor spot for shoes. No one would describe me as a big person, but there's no way I could stand in these "Business Suites", and I couldn't get in or out without putting the side into upright mode.

Appreciate the insight. I sort-of understand why they would try to do this, but it seems like the risk didn't pay off. Based on the photos I've seen, it looks more like a smaller version of BA's club suites rather than QSuites.

This is A350 seat map we are flying on tomorrow (QR 96). Looks like a A359 Qsuite, but on Seatguru seat map the rows 7 and 8 are in Quad setup, facing each other. Doesn't look like it's the case on this seat map from QR online check-in?!? Anyone knows who's right?

I'm trying to get Quad seat for us, but QR is really making it difficult.

Thanks & regards,
