Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Which routes have Qsuites?

I read yesterday that the A380 for PER is due to be replaced in October with a 777 Q Suite version. Not sure how true this is because the seat map on my booking for July 2019 still shows an A380.

Currently booked PHL-ORD-DOH 3/2/19. If the new schedule pops up on Qatar Cargo and it shows ORD-DOH without QSuites, will probably switch to direct PHL-DOH flight on the A359.

My Nov 19 ORD-DOH flight just switched to QSuites! Hope this is good news for everyone else looking at winter ORD flights also.

Fingers crossed for my Dec flight! Although I was actually looking forward to trying the bar at the rear of the 380.
If they do change will I be notified or simply reassigned a new seat?

Both very unlikely. If the same seat number exists in J on the new aircraft, you will keep you seat number, otherwise you might just loose any seat assignment.
Follow your booking regularly so you have a chance to grab your preferred seat before discovering there’s no choice at check-in...

I just booked a South Africa trip, ORD-DOH-JNB and back in mid July 2019, both segments between ORD and DOH show as Qsuites. I just wish the DOH-JNB flihgts were Qsuites as well.

Seat Maps just changed today to show Q suites on our AMS DOH return flights in Jan19 from old 777 2-2-2. My previously selected middle seats have been changed to 1K & 2J for both legs. All the middle seats are blocked off. While I’m happy with the rearward facing window seat for one leg I really wanted to try the Quad double seats on the other leg!! Guess I’ll start calling Qatar and see what they say!! Wish me luck!! Any issue with 1K being close to the Galley??

I was at 8A the other day, which is behind the second galley and the lavatory. With those doors, I didn't feel a thing.

I just flew the Qsuite on A359 (with my wife 3EF). I find them lightly less spacious than on 777. That would not be surprising given that the cabin width is significantly smaller.
As a single pax, I might prefer the "old" window seat, angled to the front, to these new ones.
Am I the only one to notice the Qsuite difference with 777?

Flying ORD-DOH-BOM, BOM-DOH-ORD in November and they have all switched to Qsuites. Super excited for that, but part of me wants to try one leg in the 777 2-2-2 layout just to try it out (only ever been on their A350).
