Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

After 2 of my 4 flights LHR-DOH-HKG switched to Qsuites, the return HKG-DOH (Oct 10) has switched back to the old 777 seat map.

Ditto with my flights to BLR next week. Had four QSuite sectors but the return to Heathrow is now showing the old 777 configuration.

Sorry if this has already been asked in this thread.

We will be travelling FRA-DOH on the A351 in the Qsuite.
We are a party of three (2 adults and a 14Y old).

I have read many feedbacks for best seating if travelling solo, in couple or with 4 pax.

What would be the best seating for the three of us (day flight) ?

Anyone think that there is any chance that QR703 DOH-JFK which currently is operated by a non Q-suite A359 starts operating with Qsuites by October of this year (either on a 77W or a newer A359/A351)?

The other daily DOH-JFK is a Qsuite 77W.

I just flew on the evening QSuite flight on the 77W (702) this past weekend. At check in, I asked the same question and the check in agent told me that starting in October 2018, that both JFK flights will be with the A350-1000 with QSuites. This is not official ofcourse, but he must have heard it from somewhere within the organization to tell me the detail of not just both flights being Qsuites but that both will be operated on an A350-1000. So maybe there is some hope.

Thanks for the information. So then the question, at least for me, become when in October! That's very interesting since I thought they only have 2 A351 birds right now. Anyone know what the delivery schedule looks like for A359/A351 for rest of the year?

A7-ALN has been in continuos service since the end of April - It was delivered with the old style business class seat. I can't see where it's been grounded long enough to have been retrofitted recently.

Are you referring to a different frame?

ORD / Chicago

A few months ago Qatar announced the daily ORD - DOH flight would be converted over to the QSuites config (777-300ER) by April 1, 2018. I have an upcoming trip through DOH in February / 2019, and the seat config still shows the old 2-2-2, even if I choose various dates right next to each other. Anyone flown on the route yet? Qatar customer support says it's not on the route yet, but it seems really crazy that it will be delayed almost a year from it's debut announcement on the route.

Edit: looks like the seat is Qsuites but changes to standard 2-2-2 on 10/28/18 - 4/1/2019, which is a giant bummer if true.

Only A7-ALY, Z have the QSuites for now. But any new A350 delivery from now will have the new seats

Surprised by Q-Suites Service

Hello FT’ers. I’ve just flown my first Q-Suites on QR007 DOH-LHR and while the hard product is indeed incredible, the service was not as expected. For starters, there was no snack platters menu despite this being much lauded, and I found the door, whilst amazing for privacy, also means you lack the frequent interaction with crew that ordinarily makes QR service so intuitive. From other TR’s I see that unless the DND button is pressed, the crew would regularly check on passengers by slightly opening the door, but that didn’t happen once on this flight - a first world problem I know. This trip gave me 3 other J class flights on the A380, A359 and 773 (pre-retrofit) and the service on all 3 was better than with Q-Suites. Perhaps it’s because the suites configuration makes it difficult to make eye contact with crew even when the door is open, or maybe it was a one off - the crew did seem especially hurried and when I could grab them they were attentive as always, but I’m keen to know if the lack of proactive service (and snack platters menu!) is a wider issue - any experiences of this?
