Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Stick with A350 - either way it will be a great seat.

Take the A350 and be sure that you'll get a great product. The 777 may or may not be retrofitted by then. Unless you can accept the current T7 product (which is admittedly not bad), take the A350.

With regards to the WiFi solution QR picked, it is not on the first aircraft due to it not being certified yet. The hardware modifications have to be certified for each individual type. Target for it going live on the 777 is now July or August.

So the hardware is installed but requires only certification? (I skimmed through the review and read only that there wasn't any WIFI).

As far as I am aware it was not installed on A7-BED due to that specific solution not being certified yet on the 77W. The actual installation can be a very quick (4-5 days).

The same solution is installed on the last 3 A359 with much faster WIFI than the 787/A380 and older A350.

Looks very impressive indeed. Not sure I'd pick it over the A380 - I like the bar.

Any suggestions on what Qsuites on the 77W (QR8) are preferable for a single traveler?

The rear-facing window seats or the front facing isle-seats? Front cabin or back?

The answer is that it's basically all personal preference.

Avoid row 6 as there are no windows.

Hi to the experts. I have been trying to find out which Q-SUITES offer the double bed in the middle. It looks like this is only working for the rear facing seats.

Am I correct that this would mean, double bed possible in rows 1/3/5/7 ?
My QR7 on July 11 does not show any more rows than 7.

I could book 4/6 or 7 - what would you recommend for the double bed?

Many thanks!

Experflyer shows for the 11th on QR7 only the old business class. No Qsuites. Thats why it goes only up to row 7. So no double bed for you (at least for the moment).

On the 10th it is the new Qsuites.

A7-BEK had its first flight yesterday. Hoping it will have the QSuite. All other 777 are flying, aside from one 77W in Doha since the 18th of June but it is probably for maintenance.
