Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

anabolism I said the only way to get seats in the middle 4 seat pods is to contact QR and request them. I did not say that the request would be granted, just that 'If you don't ask you don't get'.

It's worth taking a look at the qrcargo.com site and at the expected seat plan for the flights on your day of travel. Qrcargo.com is a good indicator of what is expected, but only tends to be high accuracy about a month before travel. However as forum regulars will be aware, rule number 1 for QR is not to book any flight with any guarantee to fly on a specific type of AIRCRAFT. If you set your expectations accordingly then you should not be disappointed.
I'm not a CDG regular, but I have not specifically noticed this route being subject to the worst of random QR airframe changes, it being one of the premium routes for QR.

+1, CDG and BKK are both subject to switches with virtually no notice and I wouldn't assume you'll get what aircraft is shown at the time of booking until you're on it! FRA and LHR are slightly better but probably the next most vulnerable to QR's evolving schedule.

I had the opportunity to try the QSuites for the first time ever from London to Doha yesterday aboard QR2 and I have some thoughts on the new seats.
First of all, from the moment you step aboard the plane, you have this "WOW" factor sink in. The cabin and the seats have this premium feel to them that it is hard to believe this is not First Class. I am a big guy, 180 cm, 130 kg, and seat wise I think it is perfect. I wont mention everything since some information is listed above.
Seats:
I got to sit in front facing window seats. The seat itself is very wide, maybe as wide as 787, however there is a mini-seat next to your seat by the window whcih can be manually opened to have a shoe/bag storage space. The seat and the mini-seat make the seat appeaer wider than it actually is.You can actually put your back to the minseat and sit facing the asile if you like! Or you can have a child sit comfortable in the mini-seat.
Cool Features:
The button or suite controls features are convieniently located in the corner of the table in front of you, with USD in blue illuminated, and a mini-shelf under the tabletop for stoing items like a small bag, phones, ect... There is a feature for DND, where the suite number lights up in red.
The design element of the suites gives a feeling of a private jet to the plane. The burgendy walls, gray/burgendy hand sticked imprinted leather, and white fake-marble table all add to the coolness of the design. The "fake-marble" sounds unflattering, but it looks flawless.
Privacy:
A lot of people asked me if there is TOTAL privacy when you close the cabin door or not.
First of all, the cabin door closes completely, and it is very difficult (although not impossible) for people to see you seated when they walk by on the asile. For people to see you in your seat, they would have to peek inside, which would be very awkaward. But, 99% of people will not notice a person seated inside a closed cabin.
Even if the suite door is open, it is hard for passengers to see others if they do not crouch forward and turn their heads backwards. So, the q suites are TOTALLY private.
The suite doors must remain open during take-off and landing for saftey reasons. .Cabin crew manually lock them and unlock them after takeoff and before landing.
Clausterphobia:
As I mentioned, I am a big guy, and I did not find the seats clausterphobic when closed! The suite gives that feeling of spaciousness, especially with the extra "mini-seats" next to the seat, and the white marble table. The walls do not hit my shoulders and closing the doors can be relaxing sometimes--makes you forget that you're in a plane.
Cabin Crew:
When I first arrived, a cabin crew introdcted herself to me, and showed me the cool features of the suites. She is clearly as excited to work in the plane, as I am to fly it, and is very excited to show me how things work in the suites. Clearly, their training is shown in their impeccable service.
Storage:
As I mentioned there is way more storage on this plane than 787/A350. The main area for storage is: a big box underneath the "mini-seat," the big marble white table, the shelf underneath the table, and I am not sure if my foot ottoman opens or not--but I would assume not.. There is a coat hanger over the miniseat as well. Storage-wise, there is more storage than we need.
If you guys have any more questions, I would be happy to answer.

It sounds like there is significantly less personal storage than on the older paired seats on the 777, since those had an enormous area at the floor under the IFE screen that could hold blankets, shoes, etc., a largish pocket under the center tabletop, a small pocket under the IFE control tray, and two pockets (one for water bottles) in the center tabletop. I could fit a bag crammed with a large electric toothbrush, toothpaste, two mouth rinse bottle and more in the largish pocket, an eyeglass case, earplugs, mask, etc. in the pocket next to the one for water bottles, and a few very small things in the small pocket under the IFE control tray. It sounds like there isn't room for all this in the QSuites.
Im not sure if you have travelled on the Q SUITES, but underneath the mini-seat you have a large cubby with space for a water bottle, bose headphones, and your shoes, or bag. The white marble table is also huge and the shelf underneath it also provides storage. The mini-seat itself can act as a storage for a bag or something.
