I got the business account was the biggest hassle in the world took 48 hours to finally get approval after chase help desk approved it. I told the banker when i first walked in there was going to be a problem but he was cool about it because the first page said sept 30 th then coupon said june 30th. So far only 10000 miles posted after one charge at post office about to do some more this week.

not to keep getting OT (maybe this $30 for billpay should be its own thread?) - i'm getting some grief from Chase when trying to sign up for the $30 for 3 bill pays deal. i can't do it myself on the website because i get some 'unable to continue' error. after a "secure message" they enrolled me for my personal card but not the biz one. said i needed another coupon code for the biz. so i provided that and now they are saying i can only get 1 promo per calendar year and that the CO bonus miles on signup took care of that. sounds to me like they are confusing signup bonuses with generic promotions. i might just let this go since it has become a hassle unless anyone has tips.

Bump.

Has anyone applied for the business account via above link and got confirmation of the miles after June 30, 2010?

It sure looks like Chase has simply forgotten to update the dates on the eBonus certificate page (the first page has the extended deadline but the page that counts - the one you print out and bring to the bank - still has June 30 expiration dates all over it).

I think they've just dropped the ball (and from the last few posts in this thread, it sounds like it is indeed an issue when doing the deal), and need to be reminded to fix it.

Sheesh, must we do everything for them?

Question: I've now been hit with my first $6 service fee on my checking account. I opened the account in early May.

Can I just cancel checking and savings without forfeiting miles, or do I need to keep the account open for some period?

(I've just looked at my printed eBonus Certificate for the 25,000 bonus miles option for checking and debit and I don't see anything related to how long the account needs to stay open.)

I'm pretty sure that if you don't keep the account open at least 6 months, they will claw back the miles.

jim5518 Jul 26, 2010 12:38 pm

I was told its 6 months or miles can be taken back.

And just so you know, you can do several things to avoid that monthly fee, and they have been discussed many times in this thread.

I opened my account January 8th and guess I will be closing it eventually so that next January, if the offer is renewed, I can take advantage again.

My question, that account was the personal account. If I open a business account now, could I get more miles or is it not possible since my CO number already got the miles during 2010?

I got the debit card and checking account for 25K miles but only received 12.5K points for the debit. Just sent them an email about it.

Answer is no. They match the names on the accounts. Your wife will need her own OnePass account.

If you don't provide a OnePass number they open a new account with Co in your name. Then OnePass will consolidate accounts for free with same name if you send then a written request & a photocopy of your driver's license.

I know because they didn't use to even have a place for your OnePass number on the app, causing everyone to get new numbers they had to merge at CO.

tzvika01 is referring to a new Chase account for his wife. The OnePass account will be in his wife's name, and he will not be able to have the miles deposited into tzvika01's account.

Not only you will lose your miles, you will be hit by $25 account closing fee.

As in the T&Cs, you can avoid the monthly fee by performing certain activities, such as the 5 non-PIN debit card transactions per statement cycle.

wise2u Jul 28, 2010 6:22 pm

and you will lose points

if you try and get more points by forgetting to put a FF# and letting them create a new account, when you go through the hassle of trying to get them combined they will look closely to make sure your not trying to double dip on the bonus. If they find you have gotten it once this year your out of luck for any new accounts with or without a FF# and you will get hit for the $25 or $55 debit card charge and if you close it early to avoid having to swipe 5 times a month they will charge you another $25....when you go to a branch and open it they ask you for your number
