Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D062; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)

I used my card on Verizon and had my number stolen (only time it was used), a friend had such an experience too.

No way getting around opening in person at a branch? Has anybody tried to open it over the phone?

business promotion extended?

Was the business promotion extended to September (like the personal one)?
Thanks!

I found this deal on Fatwallet: Get $30 just for paying bills

I was using payments to Sprint and Verizon to get the 5 debits a month anyway, so I just registered my debit card and threw in a few payments of 25 dollars or more (the minimum under the terms, and it has to be to specific types of companies).

I figure this should cover the $25 for the debit card, at least, since I don't see anything in the terms of either that preclude getting both.

Thanks! Done registering both the personal and business cards. I did not receive the "direct communication" from Chase, but once I clicked you link and tried to enroll, my debit cards all showed up and prompted for registration. So I guess it should work.

Same here. In spite of the fact that the promotion page states "This exclusive offer is by invitation only and the cash award will be awarded to the Chase...customer who received this communication directly from Chase", clicking on the word "Enroll" does indeed allow you to then enroll for this offer.
Very nice find.

Thanks! I was offered this promotion in the beginning of this year, and it worked fine. Technically this should be a new promotion as it started on May 1 so maybe I'll get lucky again! :D The registration went through anyway.

You're all welcome. I've certainly siphoned enough from these boards over the years, though I rarely post anything. :)

I just wish Chase had branches in Virginia. I'd like to open the business too (my wife even has a photography business, which would make it easy), and I considered a trip to New York for fun (and account opening), but it sounds like there are too many hoops to make it worthwhile.

pawtim Jul 4, 2010 5:40 am

No, they opened the account and accepted my initial deposit ($500 coins!) but then (while I was still at the branch, but after this whole process) determined I wouldn't get the miles, so I told them I didn't want the account at all if I wouldn't get miles.

By "rejected", did Chase deny opening your account? Or were you just denied the bonus?

Thanks!

I opened a personal acct for the 25k, as the business acct debit card link showed only a 2500 mile bonus.

I do like the printout I received as part of the acct opening process, as it clearly states the promo terms and earning requirements, in the form. Definitely raises my expectation of actually receiving the CO miles without much of a hassle.

It doesn't say you can't. It just says 3 payments of $25 or more.
