I wonder if this is correct. It would seem that you should be able to do more than one transaction per day somewhere (for example at a grocery store) and get credit (for purposes of fulfilling the required five transactions per month/billing period) for more than just one transaction.
Would anyone know if this restriction is stated somewhere in writing?

I don't think is generally true, but possibly for buying gas at the pump, which I think was the context.

Personally, I have been using each card to make 5 different payments on my cable bill each month in a single phone call to their automated system. So, I can tell you that doing 5 transactions with the same merchant in a single day does work.

I opened my 2009 person/biz accounts in December of last year. I don't want to cancel them yet because of the account closing fees. Can I open one personal/biz for 2010 even though I already have one personal/biz?

Thanks.

You would need to close the existing accounts first. Should be fine, as I recall, there are no fees after 90 days.

The bigger question is, since you opened your accounts in December 2009, the miles would have only posted in January 2010. In which case, would you be eligible to get miles again, given that you received the miles in 2010? Anybody know?

That's not true, of course you can have more than one checking account open at a time. I do right now, at chase and elsewhere.

i think most of the bonus offers for checking accounts cite a 6 month policy for keeping the account open in order to not lose your bonus.

but as to the second question, i had a similar one that i believe i resolved recently and to my pleasant surprise was told that they go by account open date and not bonus post date for the 'calendar year' consideration. people probably have different experiences with this, but i opened a new account via the web after talking to a live chat agent about these terms. i have my confirmations printed out and all, so we'll see.

YMMV, but that wasn't my experience.

I opened my accounts in December 2009, received the debit cards at the beginning of January 2010, and got the miles. When I tried to do it again in April 2010, I was told I was rejected because I had already gotten the offer this year.

i'm pretty sure you have to keep the account open for 6 months to not forfeit the bonus. that doesn't speak to the 2010 bonus though. i'll report back how it turns out.

My Pleasure.

I thought for sure the last offer would have been the last promo since now there's a merger, but this now this marks the 3rd year of this promo since Aug 2007, and I have been able to snag the bonus 4 times. Looks like most folks are having the same good luck and lets hope the easy onepass miles continues.

Is there a minimum age for this promo? Just wondering if I can sign up the kids?

Cheers.

I am guessing they need to be 18 years or older (I think I saw it somewhere during the signup process).

By "rejected", did Chase deny opening your account? Or were you just denied the bonus?
