So even though you just now signed up for the CO card, you are still getting the bonus miles (expired 12/31)?

Did you actually read what you quoted? Further, did you actually read the T&Cs of the offer itself?

The post you quoted, said he signed up on 12/28/10 with the help of a CSR over the phone.

After spending 10 minutes on the phone with a very pleasant trainee (most of it on hold), I was told they would send me the Chase-CO card ($25 annual fee).

He applied on the 28th and that is all that counts if you ever read the T&C of the offer.

Obviously you haven't or you dont understand what the T&Cs said.

Cliff Note since you are a student:

1) New Checking Account must be opened before offer ending date.

2) Fulfillment of debit card transactions must be completed within 60 days after account opening.

This even being asked and answered just several posts above yours.

I still don't see it.

Chase was never really free and always required a DD, only now the min is $500.

IMHO, there is no empirical evidence to support this statement.
Just some "disinformation" from the American Bankers Assn, etc. to attack regulation.

I opened the two 25k Checking accounts in early December, yet I have only received 45,000 miles to my Continental account. Here is what is stated on the Continental website for my account:

Activity Date Description Mileage Earned
12/29/2010 Chase Checking Bonus 10,000
12/29/2010 Continental Debit Bonus 12,500
12/29/2010 Continental Debit Bonus 12,500
12/27/2010 Chase Checking Bonus 10,000

Why did Continental only bonus 12,500, instead of the 15,000 as stated on the offer page? What should I do?

I opened two accounts in June of 2010. Ended up getting only 47,500 bonus miles.

After several calls to Chase and Conti and several visits to local Chase branch, I just closed the account as no one seemed able to or really interested in resolving the missing miles.

By the way, I was promised 55K miles when I opened the two accts.

Anyhow, I decided that another trip to a Chase branch was not something I was willing to do for 2.5K or even 7.5K miles. @:-)

Besides, this offer might come around again in 2011. :D

anyone with a chase debit from this deal might like to check out
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/miles...tal-miles.html
register for a free 100 CO miles through 2/28/11

way to double up biggest bopper! chase gave the first 12500 and the next 2500 of the 1500 i believe came from CO, or vice versa. i did this deal and got all my miles, but they came in chunks like that. the last 10k came much later.
i do believe this deal or one akin to it will come around in 2011.
i should note i am not happy with chase for stating its free checking when there are some hoops to jump through to avoid monthly fees....

Yes, I was away for 5 weeks so missed out on the news till I got back.

And yes, cant agree with you more. My card is finally getting to see the daylight and will head back into the drawer as well.

:)

This is reported several pages and weeks ago. Yes, no more easy free checking.

At least they have not specified the minimum amount required for the debit card transactions which are relatively easy to do if you make it a point to do all 5 within a day or 2 at the beginning of each statement cycle. That is when our cards get to see the daylight. After that they are back to the drawer.

A purchase of a single banana can be one of the 5 required, for example.

I am more than willing to give them some chunk of money as minimum account balance to avoid monthly fee, but I dont see such option until a very high "combined" balance - since we dont have mortgage nor carry any car loan, not even DD, that means the only option left is the multiple debit card transactions... So they deserve to get the 5 transactions as small as it can get. :D

Actually I think a lot of people are doing such as the cashiers at Walgreen or such places seem to understand when I explain I need to buy 4 Jello at 0.50 each with 4 different transactions and use 2 different cards.

I missed this offer... Has anyone had success applying after the 12/31 deadline?

Not that anyone has found yet. They may not offer it again since it was paired with the Debit Card which is going away. In any case I continue to hold out hope of some kind of offer in 2011.

Mr. Bergy Bits and I each opened a BusinessClassic Checking and a Premier checking as well as business and personal credit cards, all at the same time at the bank.

On the personalized account summary we received for the BusinessClassic, ways to avoid a monthly service fee include (among others) linking to a Premier checking OR linking to an active Chase business credit card (fee waived on the credit card for the first year, 20K mile bonus). We were told either eliminates the need for the debit transactions (beyond what's required to meet the debit card bonus).

I was prepared to park a reasonable minimum balance or do the debit transactions but was told these weren't necessary.
