That's my thought, too. Before last October, I had several accounts opened for myself and had never had any problem - the miles posted automatically and "somewhat" timely. Then I opened an account for a friend in late October 2010. The 2,500 miles posted pretty quickly, but by early Jan the 22,500 miles had not yet shown up. I sent Chase a secured message. The miles appeared in my friend's OnePass account within 3-4 days, even before Chase responded to the initial secured message. So I guess it was just a one-off mistake.

You did well. I went through about 10 secure messages trying to spare my wife the phone call odyssey. No luck there, but otherwise, we had similar paths.

I got in on this offer but somehow they created a new Continental Onepass account for me instead of using the number I gave them during the application. What's worse is that they cannot correct it once it's opened, which was confirmed by 2 CS and both insisted me to resolve it with Continental Onepass myself.

Chase is something special. At least they only created an additional ONE OP account for you...they created two for me. What I did was write a letter to OP CS and ask them to merge the one Chase created for me with my original one pass and then merge that with my 2nd Chase created OP. I kept the 2nd Chase OP account because that was the account my miles from debit card purchases were getting added to.

The 2500 was all she got originally.

I certainly made mistakes opening my account, but my miles posted.

I was extremely careful opening hers because I didn't want to have to put her through the phone calls. She made about four in the end.

Finally, though, I do think it was their fault. They left several messages with status updates once they understood the issue, and they got the miles to Continental within about four hours of the last phone call.

Glad you get your miles. I agree, once they took ownership they do try to fix the mistake as quickly as they can. In this regard Chase is much better than Citi with which it is almost impossible to make them take ownership to begin with!

This is what I had a few months ago. Called OnePass and got the accounts merged quickly.

does anyone have any experience getting the bonus while having a direct deposit but not making the purchase within 60 days? My story, I signed up for the account and started a direct deposit of a few dollars per pay period. The card came and i activated it, put it in my drawer and forgot about it. Day 61 from the day i open my account comes, and i saw the card in my drawer o' credit cards, decided to go read the terms, and realized i'd exceeded the 60 day from acct opening. I used it that day, and a few more times. The 10k for account sign up posted to my OP acct. Think i stand a chance of getting the other 12.5+2.5k??

Send a secured email to Chase and explain your situation then politely ask for assistance. Chase is known to help out in situation like that instead of stonewalling people.

Seems like this deal is really dead now and won't repeat for 2011 since CO's website already mentions that these CO Chase debit cards are "no longer offered". (both personal & biz)

Did anyone receive a snail mail from Chase that the whole UA/CO Debit card rewards are officially dead now?

If that is the case, with the new fees etc I was pretty much contemplating to close the account anyway, though I was happy with my banking center.

Might scrape some AA miles with Citi when I'm down net time.

I have my HSBC account but would prefer to keep at least one nationwide account with sort of a convenient presence.

I signed up for this in the last days of December and got 22500 miles within the past couple of days, but not the 2500 miles. I sent chase a secured message and awaiting a reply.

The 2,500 miles are normally posted much later than the rest. Chase will probably just ask you to wait 6-8 weeks (IIRC this is stated on the coupons) for the miles to post.

The death of UA debit card has be declared on .bomb, in the Credit card section.

My sign up date was mid October. I haven't received any miles. I'm starting to wonder if I have a second account.

justplainwright Jan 15, 2011 9:07 pm

I signed up for my Chase account on December 29th and just received my miles this evening. I had to walk the Chase banker through the sign up process and convince her that it was a legitimate promotion. She had no idea that her bank was even offering this deal! She almost didn't enter in my Onepass acct. information, which would have opened up a new account according to the Chase documentation. I don't blame the bankers though. They have so many promotions to keep up with.
