Or, the coupon code was not correctly attached with the opening bonus portion but I doubt it though because usually it was the other way round.

I didn't receive any kind of bonus from Chase in 2010, so I should be eligibile for the extra 10,000 miles. I'll watch my account for a few more days and I hope they post without me having to call. But, I do have the special 800 number handy in case the miles never post.

Added info:
Oh, I just remember something. At first, the banker didn't give me any tracking number. Then, I contacted him (after reading many posts here) and he only gave me the tracking number for the 15,000, but not the 10,000. Could he have signed me up only for the debit card bonus miles, but not for opening the account? Is this scenario possible?

Here is my Chat:

you: Hi, I am applying for a checking account. I am trying to get the one with the Chase Continental Debit card but I don't see it as an option.

Joshua: Hello. You are able to choose the continental card with any of the standard accounts. The Rewards cards have been removed from the online application recently, so you can choose the standard card and once your account is opened, you can order the Continental card at the branch or at 1-800-935-9935.

you: Thanks, I want to make sure I will get the 15K bonus miles for using the Continental Preferred Card. I am still eligible for that, correct?

Joshua: Yes, you would just need to enter the code from your offer and choose the Continental card, since it is no longer in the online application, you can choose the card once your account is opened.

you: OK, thanks for the info. Do I need the coupon code when I call in to get the Continental card, or just now when I apply for the account?

Joshua: You're welcome. You would just need the code when you are opening your account so you can enter it in the application.

you: I am all set then. Thanks!

FYI, I received my standard Chase card and pin in the mail. I was able to call Chase and they are issuing me the $25 Continental Debit card.

I got my 25K miles with personal checking account and I have no use for the $25 annual fee CO debit card anymore.

Anyone knows if I change my debit card to UA (either $25 one or $65 one), will I be charged the annual fee again? If so, will I get the 2500 UA bonus miles?

Has anyone done this? I want to get some UA miles before Chase stops issues new Rewards debit cards.

Thanks

Is there a way to add Chase Debit Card Users online for 2500 mile bonus, not finding it at the moment?

not certain but I could have sworn I saw something about how an auth user on one's CC could earn another 5k Co miles.

I need to look back in my own paperwork--and in here.

that is unless someone happens to have the info on this

Thank you

After much, much pain, my wife finally got her miles today.

Chase is starting to operate like Citibank. I thought we'd keep these accounts at one point, but after this nonsense, they'll get closed for sure.

Let me know if you find it.

I dont know. May be there are some errors made during the account opening process.

Ours posted quickly and automatically on both the personal and the business accounts. In fact the business accounts got the opening bonus posted 4 business days after their opening. Opened on 10/29, bonus posted on 11/04, with debit cards not arrived until 10 days later. Even the last 2500 miles from CO posted on schedule, about 6 to 8 weeks after account opening.

I know this is listed somewhere in this thread, but I'm not finding it.

I opened a Personal and Business account. I linked the personal to business in order to sidestep the monthly fees on both (personal is free if linked to business / business is free if a personal is attached to it).

The thing I'm wondering, though, is that though there should be no monthly fees for either account at this point regardless of direct deposit or monthly transactions, is there an account activity threshold that has to be reached? I've been looking through the T&c's and am either missing it or it isn't there. Any info would be great, but it's sort of looking like I can simply shelve the cards until the 6 months are up then cancel the accounts since I have completed the needed transactions to earn the mileage rewards.

First, welcome to FT!

with the business account linked to the personal one, you need to have 5 transactions on the business debit card to avoid the monthly fee on the business account, until you cancel the account.

You can put away the personal debit card now.

I printed out the offer for the OnePass Plus Rewards personal credit card before applying on the last day.

Earn an additional 5,000 bonus miles when you add an authorized user to your account within two months of opening your account and after you make your first purchase.

Hope this helps! :D

Really? I'm looking at the account summary doc (business account) given to me after opening the account and this is what it says:

Chase BusinessClassic Checking (account ending in ...XXXX)
Avoid a monthly service fee:
  • Maintain a required minimum average monthly balance, OR
  • Link to a Chase Premier Checking or Chase Premier Platinum Checking, OR
  • Link to an active Chase business credit card, OR
  • Have 5 or more debit card purchases post each statement period (excludes ATM and cash advance transactions)

I first opened a personal Checking account, then while opening the business account upgraded the personal account to a Chase Premier Checking account. I read the above to say I can avoid the monthly fee by avg balance, linked checking account, linked credit card or # of transactions. Am I reading this wrong?

If I am right and don't have to use either account at this point, is there still some small print about # of transactions to keep the account "active"?

Although new to FT, I am old to Chase shenanigans. Just finished opening a business checking ($200) personal checking ($100) bonus pack, and can confirm that if you linked them together u must do the 5 business debit card transactions/month. It was the sam last year.
However, there was no time limit on the business side to keep the account open, so I will close that shortly after $200 bonus is credited, and then just use the personal debit card 5x/mo.

The easiest thing is to have a business cc linked to the acoount and do one transaction.

The 2500 was all she got originally.

I certainly made mistakes opening my account, but my miles posted.

I was extremely careful opening hers because I didn't want to have to put her through the phone calls. She made about four in the end.

Finally, though, I do think it was their fault. They left several messages with status updates once they understood the issue, and they got the miles to Continental within about four hours of the last phone call.

Maybe it was just a one-off mistake, since they really took ownership of the problem once they understood it, but, still, getting that far was tough.
