I think I messed this up -- opened the wrong checking account, went into a branch, showed promotion, and they said they'd straighten it out. New card came, closed old account -- made all the purchase: 10,000 miles show up. Then 2,500 just showed up. Hmm.

Sorry if this question has been answered previously. How long do you have to keep the business account open to avoid the miles being recaptured by Chase? Is it 6 months minimum?

My situation when I applied for my son at the very end of 2010, the Continental Debit card was no longer available as an option on line. I talked to a rep, who said I could start the account online, and once I receive the account information and regular card, I could get the debit card and get the additional 15K miles. I did all that, and they ar saying now, through about 9 secure email messages, that he is not eligible for the 15K because he didn't get the Continental card at the time of openning the account. No where on the coupon does it say you need to get the card when you open the account, which is why I suppose the rep said it would be OK to get it later as well.

Me too
Vortix, I am still missing 12.5K miles and so is Mr. Bergy Bits. I was waiting for one more Continental statement to close (should be in a few days) to see if they appear and if not at that point I am going to contact the banker we sat down with on New Year's Eve when we each opened personal checking, business checking, personal credit card, and business credit card. Everything posted fine except what looks to be the personal debit miles. I have all my tracking numbers, do you? Please keep us updated about your success and I will do the same. It's annoying to have to "chase" things - no pun intended.;)

Same here,...Chase tried to stiff me on 12,500 from the 2010 CO offer. Looks like my case was not the only one, since it has happened to so many of us here. It took me several weeks of calls before I could eventually reach the right person. Many times, Chase transferred me to CO, and CO would send me back to Chase. Twice I thought I spoke with the right person,..."We'll call you back in 2 days",..but neither rep ever called me back. Even so, I kept at it, and finally received my missing miles. Anyway, I don't think you should wait any longer to take action. Remember, the Chase Debit card deal with CO ends very soon. Call the Chase "Research Resolution" department at this number: 1-800-517-4907 (x8559). Good Luck. |
Got our missing 12.5K miles!
The banker who opened the accounts for each of us got on it immediately when I notified her and the miles posted a few days after her intervention! Wish I hadn't had to chase Chase but it was pretty painless thanks to her!
