I also used a debit card to fund my account. Tried to do the same with my wife's account but she doesn't have a debit card and there is no option to change the name on the funding card, i.e. I can't use my card to fund wife's account.

Yowch! I blew it! I can't believe I missed that.

Can I add money, or am I now ineligible because my initial deposit was under $100?

FWIW, they haven't credit the $50 to my account yet, so maybe I can call and give them a debit card number over the phone?

It appears the coupon for the business account has now been updated with the correct expiration date. At least, I was able to print it out using this link:

The terms say "Offer valid through September 30, 2010. To qualify for the reward you must open a new Chase CheckingSM account with a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates). "

So I don't know if it would work to add money later on.

When I called Chase they said the only account my 17 year old could get was the High School account and I think the terms say that account does not qualify for the bonus. So, there is definetly different information going on here.

When you hit print coupon the terms further state:

"Only customers who bring in this original certificate when opening a personal checking account (excluding High School CheckingSM, Chase College CheckingSM, Chase Access CheckingSM, and New Jersey Consumer Checking Account) are eligible for this offer. "

So High School accounts are not eligible.

THANK YOU. I have been waiting for them to finally get this straightened out (in fact, I just checked again last night, and grumbled when I saw it still had the June 30 expiration date - figured they probably wouldn't get it right ever).

Time for me to grab $500 from my credit union and visit my local chase branch again for another 25k miles.

Off to print my coupon....

Well, the phone rep claimed they couldn't change it, but he also said he didn't see the $100 minimum in his terms. So I asked him to put a note in to that effect, and I'll just take my chances, I guess.

Entering your CO frequent flier number

Applied online, and received an "ECoupon Receipt" confirming that I will receive 25K bonus miles after fulfilling the various conditions. However, at no point was there an option to enter my CO frequent flier number. Should I:

(1) Assume that a new CO frequent flier number will be created, and I will then have to merge any duplicate CO frequent flier accounts?

(2) Or try to get a Chase rep to enter my existing CO frequent flier number? Based on past experience, the latter might well take a dozen calls...

You're right on #2. I called numerous times trying to explain this. They just kept telling me I needed to call Onepass. On third call the rep figured out what I was explaining and it turns out they already knew my number. I had received the miles in 2008 for this promo.

Lots of posts on this in this thread. But for me, they opened a new account because my name was not exactly the same as on my onepass account. After points were deposited, I was able with e-mail to have CO merge the accounts. It took a few weeks, but I wasn't in any rush for the miles.

Do you get the bonus for a business account if you already have the personal account and got the bonus for it?

Supposedly, yes.

I have not done the biz account yet (will be setting that up in a few days), but I'm pretty sure it should work. Others report that it did, and my reading of the terms suggest it should.

Giddyup.

Yes. Many have already reported success.

johnzavala Aug 25, 2010 9:18 am

I have tried twice this morning to apply for a personal acct online but towards the end I get a window that says " coupon code already redeemed- proceed without coupon or go to home page". This despite refreshing the cert and getting confirmation from "online chat" gal that the code is in fact valid.

She has told me that this cert needs to be brought into a branch to open an account. I told her others have done it online but she simply apologizes. Any thoughts much appreciated.

Perfect, I should be opening this and a CO Chase business credit card in the next few days. Switching from another bank that isn't as helpful and doesn't offer this type of deal.
