Chase is holding 12,500 miles from me. I opened a business and personal checking account and jumped through the funding and debit card hoops a few months ago. Today they said I'm not eligible for one 12,500 mile bonus on the business side because I received a 12,500 mile bonus for my personal card. This can't be accurate. How can I fight it?

According to the T&Cs, they would be within their rights to deny you a second 15k bonus, which is what I brought up a few months ago.
10k Bonus: Limit one business checking account-related premium per customer per calendar year. Limit one 15,000 bonus OnePass miles premium per customer per calendar year. Also, AFAIK the 12.5k bonus is the portion of the 15k bonus that is given by Chase; the rest (2.5k) is given by CO. |

I just went through non posting bonus miles last week, for the second time this year. Only the 877-292-4273 number is at all useful for resolving these issues and for me it was very simple. Just last week, for my business account opened in April after my personal account in January AND business and personal accounts in December. 100,000 miles in bonuses now posted and in my Onepass account since mid December. |

Who exactly is "they" and how exactly were you told this.

Just call 877-292-4273 and politely explain it to them and ask them to investigate it. They should offer to call you back whiten a couple of days with the results of the investigation. The first time. (in April) "a couple of days" turned into two weeks but they did eventually call back and the miles did post with no further intervention after getting absolutely nowhere by calling customer service and secure e-mail. Customer service and secure e-mail are less than worthless on non-posting miles issues. The second time. Last week. Second account this year. I went strait for the 877-292-4273 number. This time the miles posted 2 days after I called and they called me back a day after that to tell me my miles "would be posting". That was all just last week.

I would absolutely call until you find a "friendlier" CSR. A couple months ago I had the same thing happen to me. When the first one said there was nothing she could do I simply hung up and called again. The next one spoke with someone for a couple mins and a couple days later it posted.

I'm missing 2.5k on each card. Should I still call this number?

FYI:
My personal and business accounts were opened on June 2nd. I have Chase Premier Checking personal account (free when linked to business account) and a Chase Business Classic (free when linked to a Premier Checking) account. My banker clearly explained the link between the accounts means I would not be required to make the 5 minimum debit transactions monthly - personal or business. Other than the ones required for the miles promotion (I did them all on June 7th), I have not touched these accounts. The only other debit in two months has been the annual fees for the debit cards and those were only deducted last week. So I remain convinced you can do this without any 5 minimum debit requirement in either account. I have received 10K+12.5K+2.5K. I just can't confirm which account generated them. The remaining 25K is still in the ether. Called the 877 # just now only to learn their hours are only until 17:30 Eastern. That's annoying but I'll call back in the morning and find my miles! |

Just posted my last remaining 22,500. So that is 50,000 from 1 personal and 1 business opened mid December 2009. 25,000 for a personal opened January 2010 and 25,000 for a business opened April 2010. 100,000 since mid December. All 4 accounts are still open. I'll close 3 accounts tomorrow now that 6 months are past and ALL of my miles are secure but I'll keep the one business since I've already picked up another 40,000 miles on 5 miles per dollar spent on Dell Business for IT purchases for my employer that are expensed and reimbursed.

I'm inferring from this that the "per calendar year" rule is determined by when you applied for the account and not when you earn the bonus, correct? I opened some accounts in late December, do I'm assuming I'm OK to do this for 2010. Thanks.

That is correct. Many have reported no problem with getting the bonuses this year after opening an account just in last December. A few have run into troubles with reps that insist otherwise, but most have had no problem getting the bonus.
