Just thought I would mention that I also have successfully had the annual fees for both the personal and business debit cards reversed. All it took was a politely written email sent via the secure message system of chase.com and I had a response and credit within 2 hours for the biz, 10 hours for the personal account. I sent the two requests about a week apart.

how did you get it reversed i sent them a nice email in the secure message saying oh i thought the charge comes at the end iof the yr to see if i like the service and they responded no the charge comes a month after the card is opened
what can i do? |

Debit Card Annual Fee Refund
When you sign up for this promo, you know that it comes w/ an annual fee. That said, I still try to get the annual fee refunded. So, use your best efforts to get the annual fee refunded, but don't be surprised if they say no. Chase normally limits these courtesy gestures to once a year.
I think ArizonaGuy hit the main points for requesting the annual fee be refunded. Good luck. |
Well, I got my biz debit card annual fee refunded. Just sent a polite note asking them to refund it for the first year as a courtesy as is typical with most debit and credit cards and they did it.
Will send a note about the personal card in a few days. 50k CO miles for free is an awesome deal in my book. Thanks a lot AZGuy for the heads-up. :) |
I have a quick question on the current offer, it says at the beginning
2. Open a Chase CheckingSM account, set up direct deposit "and" make a qualifying purchase with your Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Card But the detailed clause reads as Also, to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles you must make 5 debit card purchases with any Chase debit card linked or used to access the new account "or" initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, Social Security or other government benefits. Is it a "OR" or "AND" for the two requirements? Thanks |

They are two offers totaling 25,000 miles and each offer has its own requirements. |

I found this deal on Fatwallet: Get $30 just for paying bills
I was using payments to Sprint and Verizon to get the 5 debits a month anyway, so I just registered my debit card and threw in a few payments of 25 dollars or more (the minimum under the terms, and it has to be to specific types of companies). I figure this should cover the $25 for the debit card, at least, since I don't see anything in the terms of either that preclude getting both. |

I'm also trying to sign up for the personal checking account online. Since I have a chase credit card, here's what I did:
1. Logged into chase account online 2. Clicked "Products & Services" tab 3. Clicked "Banking" 4. Clicked "Checking Accounts" 5. Clicked "Apply" button under "Chase Checking SM" 6. Clicked "I would like to start a new application", and entered promo code from link here (on a refreshed page) 7. Filled out application through to where it asks me to select a card type and shows the promo code again My concerns are: (a) None of the debit card types listed have the 25,000 listed. The Continental OnePass card ($25 fee) was listed, but when I clicked on the terms, it was only 5000 points (2500+2500). Did I approach this correctly? (b) No place to enter my onepass account, but I assume that answer is buried in this thread. (c) Debit account doesn't do a hard pull on my credit right? I'm doing some credit score cleaning in effort to apply for the citi deal in Oct. Did I go through the right steps to open a personal account online? Was I supposed to select a different checking account type? What type of confirmation do I get on the 25,000 promotion? Thank you. |

UPDATE: Contacted a CSR online. Here are some responses for reference to others: CSR: To answer your first question. The promotion will not be shown when you click on the debit card. As long as you enter the coupon code correctly, and meet the requirements listed on the coupon, you will receive your bonus. CSR: In regards to your second question, we perform a soft inquiry on your credit history which will not affect you in any way. CSR: And for your last question, you would need to contact OnePass Customer Service at 713-952-1630 to have this account combined to your existing OnePass account. |
