How long has it been since you completed the 5 debit card transactions? It took my wife & I about 6 to 8 weeks to receive our completed 25K miles each. The miles are broken down into 15K, 12.5K & 2.5K, and not all of them come from Chase, hence there is a delay.

I completed the debit transactions in late January, perhaps that is the reason for the delay? Either way, I'm not too worried, I know they will post just kinda curious as to when. I didn't experience this with the account I opened up inside a branch last year.

I sent Chase a secure message and a received a quick response saying I would receive the miles on March 23rd, 2010...not too sure why that date but I'll wait til then and see what the deal is...apparently, according to a CSR I spoke with, Chase is only responsible for the 2,500 debit card miles, the rest is Continental. Hope that helps some of you who are in the same situation as I am!

I tried for 3 weeks to open an account online, kept saying my credit card was denied. I tried literally 6 different credit cards and they were all denied. I finally got frustrated enough that I called a branch and asked them to open one for me. That was a success.

I called the 800 #, to open one, they told they will send info to make a credit card deposit, 3 weeks later nothing, maybe its the 3 accounts i have open and closed before, but will try again and open the 30,000 cc

This is a really good offer. I doubt they will offer it again this year after the expiration in March.

I would try my all to get this offer to work.

My Travelocity mastercard worked fine.

Seeking confirmation that opening one or both of these checking accounts does not require that you haven't opened a Chase credit card account within the last 6 months and will have no bearing on future Chase credit card applications (i.e. - sorry, we can't open the Chase credit card account because you recently opened the Chase checking account and vice-versa).

Your statement and questions were mixed together.

Answer to question no. 1 (Are the Chase checking and credit cards related to one another?) - The terms and conditions of the offers do not have any language that addresses previous applications for Chase credit cards.

Answer to question no. 2 (If you open one or more Chase checking accounts, will the checking accounts affect future applications/approvals for Chase credit cards?) - No, they are not related.

Background, generally (not always) when a checking account is opened, banks utilize Chex Systems to run a check on the applicant. Chex System is not a credit reporting agency similar to Transunion, Equifax, and Experian. Generally, when you apply for new credit cards, the issuer will hard pull a Transunion, Equifax, and Experian credit report.

My experience, opening Chase checking accounts (4 in the last year) did not generate a Transunion, Equifax, and Experian credit pull.

Of course, nothing is exact and if you have a particular credit history problem, your experience may be different.

Open you new Chase checking accounts and let us know the results.

Thanks for the confirmation on both issues. I'll wait for the 2010 mileathon registration period (April 1 through May 31) before acting on the checking accounts (assuming deadline gets extended again). I need to wait until the end of May to be 6 months past my November 2009 BA Visa application before opening another Chase CC account.

Thanks a lot for the 2010 mileathon news. When I saw your post, I jumped, searched, and found the 2010 mileathon. I have been holding off to open the accounts only to wait for mileathon to come back. My patience pays off. Ready to pocket some extra miles (assuming the deadline will get extended).

I searched the summer 2009 Mileathon threads and saw this question, but didn't see an answer. Does anyone know how they worked the last mileathon bonus: did you only get one bonus for a single checking account (i.e. Personal), or did you get two bonuses - one for the Business Account and one for the Personal Account? Two would be max as that is your account limit for each calendar year (1 Per & 1 Bus). And for the answer to apply for the new mileathon it would assume the current 3/31/10 date gets pushed back and the new mileathon T&C's are similar.

I received mileathon credit for both the personal and business. Of course I had to email them a copy of my bank statements showing use of each debit card during the proper time period since they conveniently have "no record" of the cards. No problem though. After going through heck several times in my early days of miles-hording trying to get credit for all these deals I've participated in, I now just assume I will always have to "prove" everything so I keep any and all evidence of participation for just such occasions.
My #1 rule in this game is "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."

Is it possible to get your OnePass number from Chase changed? I already had a OnePass account, but Chase created a new one for me.

Talk to OnePass and they will combine them under one number.

I applied for and received the 2 checking accounts, and got all the miles for them in 2009. do I have to cancel the accounts before trying the process again? I know you're supposed to wait 6 months before canceling, but I haven't heard of anyone applying for new checking accounts when they already had other accounts already open.
