I hope they see the light.

They saw the light and agreed my debit tranactions were not pin based. The 12,500 are now in the account but they have not communicated thier decision to me (and I do not care).

Thanks Chase. Now target my wife for the UA 50K CC.

From what I've heard Chase closed this loophole, at least from personal experience Citi ACH's do not work.

I remember reading something about them closing that loophole to trigger any cash/miles/other bonus, but that it DOES still work as a "direct deposit" to waive the monthly service fee each month.

Unfortunately, I actually have my payroll going in there, so I cannot confirm for sure.

If anyone does / is using this method, please post your results. Thanks.

Just as an FYI, you can just do a ACH Direct Deposit (i.e. trf from say paypal/etrade/ing/etc) and it will count as a direct deposit. Based on the new rules, just make sure it is for say $501.00. Also, keep in mind that you can simply have the $501.00 go into the account and then have it transferred back the next day. Assuming you have $501 elsewhere, this makes it VERY simple to not worry about it. Simply set up a recurring push from your other bank/online account, of $501.00 for any day, and then set up a recurring pull from your other bank/online account, of $501.00 the next day. No hassle. Hope that helps.

At first I thought you posted based on your Actual experience because in your initial post you have no qualifier on your "information". It gives the impression that you KNOW it works because that is how you do it...

It turns out you have no idea if this is true.

I would suggest NOT to post untested information unless you put in qualifier when it could cost others money if the information turns out to be totally false - because if someone mistakes this is the case and turns out it isn't, he would be charged the $6 month fee.

It is a common courtesy one should observe when posting "information" - if it is not based on the FACT, one should qualify the "information" by saying something to that effect such as that it is not tested personally or by someone you know.

I am glad to see US Fan posted his ACTUAL personal experience that Citi ACH does not work. If Citi's ACH does not work, I dont see HOW PayPal and such would work given PayPal transaction always is viewed with a skeptical eye by the banks.

Did your wife open both a personal and a business account? The personal account has 2 tier fees for the debit card, but the business account has only $65 version.

Well, since your wife got 50K miles, it is doubled of what you got even though the fee is more than doubled but only by $10... it is up to you whether you want to "rock the boat" to get the fee adjusted and at the same time also may get the miles adjusted as well...

I think I'll just pay the extra $40 for 25K more miles. My banker said he signed her up for a "preferred card" instead of the regular one. Not sure what a preferred card is but I'll take the extra miles.

Preferred card is the one charges $65 instead of $25. It still only has 25K bonus, but it would earn 1 mile per $1 spent, versus the $25 card earns 1/2 mile per $1 spent.

Somehow your banker did something by mistake, but the mistake got you double bonuses.

I were you I would keep silent - until if and when Chase discovers the error and takes back the extra 25K then you go to protest and get your $40 back...

Agreed! The extra $40 for the preferred card was only supposed to get you more points with your card purchases.

But if the extra 25K miles for just $40 had been a real offer, how much would we have jumped on that!

Excactly... I was so hoping my banker had made the same mistake and I could get 25K extra miles for $40...

I used 25K from 2009 to get a $650 CO ticket from HKG to GUM in last Dec. I sure don't mind going there once again for $40. :D

That is not my experience.

I openned my account on 8/23 and do two $50 ACH deposits from CITI every month. I have never been charged the service fee.

I know, now they are changing this to a $500 minimum, so I will likely close this at the end of February.

I just checked a statement again and it says:
"Your monthly service fee was waived because you had a direct deposit OR at least 5 debit card purchases during the
statement period."

The only activity on this account was the two $50 deposits.

I just checked my wife's account as well, and it is exactly the same thing with the same statement and no fees.

I have a similar question. I opened a personal account in late December, 2010 with the $25/annual fee debit card. I made my 5 debit card (with signature) transactions. I received 10,000 OnePass miles. Is this typical, and when should I receive the additional 15,000 OnePass miles?

I got 10,000 and then 12,500 posted for both my husband's and my personal account, on the same day, but the other 2500 has not posted yet?
These accounts I signed up for online. I went into a branch for the business account and so far NOTHING has posted. I sent a secured email thru the CHASE website, but they say that CO is repondsible for the posting of these miles and that there is nothing they can do! Just call CO. I will, but was wondering if anyone can give me some advice, as 22,500 posted from the personal, 25,000 posted from the recent CO credit card, and yesterday I got confirmation that the other 25,000 will be given to me for the NEW 50,000 CO offer because I applied for the CO credit card within the last 60 days. I just think it will be difficult to explain all these postings to a rookie CSR at CO! plus, I think you need to be a NEW Chase checking account holder (and I am in the sense that I did all of this within a few days of each other!)

When did you open the account?
Have you waited the 6-8 weeks per the T&C?

My first 5 transactions on my PERSONAL CO DEBIT card was on 10/28/2010, so 6-10 weeks after that have passed
