Just loaded today at MC. No issues there. But the location I visit, they have to remember to "something" on their end and I cannot insert the debit until they do something (if you try it'll barf on you and they need to start over). But what you describe sounds a bit odd. Maybe they didn't understand you wanted to "load" money to your Discover checking (I've had to use that phrase to get the CS rep to select/choose the right options).
Although I've had a few times where (depending upon the CS rep, usually it's the new ones) ask for my phone # and then tell me I'm "not in the system". Dunno know why they ask for it, but then they ask if I have the card? I vaguely recall there was a way with Discover to generate a barcode or something in the app, but I never did/do that. Hopefully it's not a new "thing" they're rolling out. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b5f8fe0298.png

Long time reader, first time poster…weird thing happened today for p1/2 discover loads at two separate wm (super csc and nm csc).
Inserted debit card and transaction never goes past the spinning wheel first step. Usually I have to input zip and then csr asks for amount, etc. Csr was saying something about the system now asking for “company ID” even though both accounts are personal. They tried my zip, last 4 of card #, and even tried my ID at one point. Nothing worked. Last csr wasn’t sure what was going on but then said it seems like a change today where I might need to input name, number, checking acct # to create a profile in order to load in future, but still didn’t seem certain that that would work. Will call discover next, but thought I’d ask here first to see if anyone else was seeing this. I last loaded both accounts late last week some time, but no where near the weekly/monthly limits. |
Amex gift cards
Anyone have experience using amex gc for discover loads? Never used them before but heard they were a pain to liquidate.

I feel like this was just an error in what they selected on their screen?

Thank you |
BIN 5253 62 worked last week, but now takes the money from card and then refunds it immediately.
Error message "Debit not approved". Which BINS are still working? |
My comments seem to keep going to moderation - likely since my account is new....
Called Discover...no issue on their end. Went today to a 3rd location that has worked before and hit the MC. Made sure to indicate "loading a Discover account" this time. Process went smoothly as normal. So...not really sure what happened. Seems unlikely it would be a CSC vs MC issue. It's possible that both CSRs keyed a non-70 action code, but both of these locations and employees have executed with ease before, so would be strange if they both made the same mistake one after the other and not notice or be able to fix it. Thanks all for the comments/help! |

Make sure you are waiting until the little screen next to the pinpad (circled) says "Insert account" or else it will error out

Yes, I was going to also say to the poster, are you sure they did 70 action code? I'm wondering if they went into financial services where cards can also be loaded in other ways.

Just wanted to add that there was a more on my bars that Walmart flagged it for fraud or something along those lines. Not sure why. Hopefully it's just this bin.

5253 62 bin works depending on which design you are buying. 52536239 doesn’t work. I reported that DP earlier. I have noticed some of these are not getting locked up, it will refund the the amount to card, and you can use it elsewhere. I haven’t tried to use it again at WM after the initial decline.

I know a few people have called out the lowered 24hr threshold as not being a thing. But i keep running into issues with $500+ loads that will go through just fine when i drop to $500.
Maybe some walmarts have different POS systems? The WMs around me also have no problems anymore with MCGC BHNs from OD bin 511332 doing a single swipe full $200 load, while other people are still calling out $99 max loads per swipe (which uses to be the case for me). This includes doing full $200 at the MC. I have done $400 (two cards swiped) for weeks now. One other weird thing happened to me with VGC OD bin 435880 is not needing to enter a pin. I lost my sticky note with details on if it was partial on a partially used card or not. |

Just out of curiosity, which part of the US are you in? |
