Per my latest phone call to Discover 800-347-7000 this thread needs a wiki update. Loaded $1K on 8/29. Loaded $500 today. Second load failed. Called and was told '2 days ago' the load limit was reduced to $500 per 24 hours. If anyone else has different information, I would love to hear it. Very disappointing.

But it is certainly concerning that you also met with a successful $500 load followed by a failed load! My second attempt to load $500 was using the same funding means that worked for the first load that was successful. This is the first time (out of many) that I have had a failure on the second load. |

It is $1K every 24 hours, so make certain that it has been at least 24 hours, as well as no more than $10K in a 30 day period.

Did $400 then did $500 a few hours later so limit probably still 1k every 24 hours.

After a few months off, every WM in my area. I'm assuming this is not specific to just Discover loading. I still can only load 1 $499 VGC/MC. Any 2nd swipe/transaction with another VGC/MC card will lock up and require replacement. I can finish a 1k load with say $499 VGC/MC + $501 Cash back debit card. |
I was successful 2x$500 back to back on Thursday (different Walmart), but for now I'm just going to ignore that it happened once and assume nothing changed. I certainly felt the cashier was competent and didn't screw it up, but actually I have no idea why I got the one failure 6 days ago and probably never will.

Staff at 2 WMs near me said that I couldn't load with gift card. They didn't even let me try. Am I out of my luck?
