My transactions at the WMMC are being cancelled after my swipes with error 63. However, discover is registering the load and adding to balance.
Gift card balance remains, but discover shows money added. |

Hmmm, interesting, the first time I’m hearing this error for something else. Every time I got this error (that’s many many times) I realized I forgot about a limit after double checking. I guess it can mean the debit used can also give that error. I only use PW/BHN ones, so not well-versed in Incomm, but seems likely it’s an Incomm issue not allowing that transaction to complete after it initially authorized it then I guess

I don't have the slip for this transaction where the money went into my Discover checking on the afternoon of Oct 16 (Thursday) and is still there as of Oct 18 (Saturday). The money also went back to the MCGC. super weird. |

Where do you buy the a pathward/BHN cards? I can't find them anywhere. It's there a fee on these cards? If like to get $500 cards/loads but I've just been buying the fee-free $200s from Staples/ODOM.
They're the variable load VGC. I was at my local Staples on Thursday, and they had about 10. For a long time they were out. I was at another Staples, and they didn't have any. Hit or miss. These variable load VGC always have a fee at Staples. |

Just wanted to update and say that the error message was for a different transaction.

I'm quite certain the error slip you got (assuming error 63) was for that transaction. Same thing is occurring to me. Giftcard shows reversal, but discover shows load. This was also on the 16th. On the 12th, I did 2 loads (Received correct receipts for them) but my discover shows 3 loads and credited all 3.
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...13993560b4.png I am not touching that money ; I normally transfer it into my Discover savings. I already spent some of the money on that MCGC immediately after the failed load. 2022 Kids 10.1" tablets for $35. Not the newer 2024 model but I am not going to turn down $35 for a brand new kid's tablet that comes with case. |
Three DPs today. No full drains. These were all within an hour of each other.

Then when you swipe the gc, it will ask for the PIN. |

With Discover loads, it will ask for zip code when you insert the Discover debit card.

That's what I expected! But for some reason, it didn't ask for the PIN. Maybe too small of a load?
Don't know; the smallest load I have done is $70 back when I was learning the process. |
Long time reader, first time poster…weird thing happened today for p1/2 discover loads at two separate wm (super csc and nm csc).
Inserted debit card and transaction never goes past the spinning wheel first step. Usually I have to input zip and then csr asks for amount, etc. Csr was saying something about the system now asking for “company ID” even though both accounts are personal. They tried my zip, last 4 of card #, and even tried my ID at one point. Nothing worked. Last csr wasn’t sure what was going on but then said it seems like a change today where I might need to input name, number, checking acct # to create a profile in order to load in future, but still didn’t seem certain that that would work. Will call discover next, but thought I’d ask here first to see if anyone else was seeing this. I last loaded both accounts late last week some time, but no where near the weekly/monthly limits. |

Although I've had a few times where (depending upon the CS rep, usually it's the new ones) ask for my phone # and then tell me I'm "not in the system". Dunno know why they ask for it, but then they ask if I have the card? I vaguely recall there was a way with Discover to generate a barcode or something in the app, but I never did/do that. Hopefully it's not a new "thing" they're rolling out. |

Just loaded today at MC. No issues there. But the location I visit, they have to remember to "something" on their end and I cannot insert the debit until they do something (if you try it'll barf on you and they need to start over). But what you describe sounds a bit odd. Maybe they didn't understand you wanted to "load" money to your Discover checking (I've had to use that phrase to get the CS rep to select/choose the right options).

Hopefully it's not a new "thing" they're rolling out. At the first location I tried, I asked if I could try a different account after we were having trouble with the discover account. So, I input my OnePay card and transaction went through as normal. Even tried both p1/2 Discover cards after and still never got past the spinning wheel and the "company ID" prompt. I ended up contacting Discover and there was nothing going on that they could see, so they suggested just waiting and trying again later. I'll give it some time and then try for a MC next and see if that makes a difference. |

It wasn't an employee not knowing what to do. I don't recall what the problem was or what the employee said. It may have been "company ID", but both the employee and I thought maybe the chip reader was acting up or something and didn't recognize that it was a Discover debit card and thus couldn't go on to the zip code entry step. So the employee moved over to the next register at the customer service counter, and that worked. It was really odd. If you find out anything from Discover, please let us know. I do wonder whether with the holiday season fast approaching it is some sort of fraud prevention step. All the VGCs and MCGCs are gone from the gift card rack. |
