The MO Paris poached the former Assistant Chef Concierge at the Four Seasons George V and made him Chef Concierge at the MO. Julien trained under Roderic Levejac of the Four Seasons so he is a very capable Concierge and definitely a loss to the Four Seasons.

However, these departures do also speak volumes of the quality of staff FS have.

news

1. FS seems to be working on a mixed use project in Madrid overlooking the Gran Via . It will include the renovation of an old spanish palace, residences as well as the first Harrods in Spain

Please tell me more about this, first time I am hearing about this.
Do you know where exactly in Madrid?
Who is the developer?

I'd like to clarify a mistake - the project lies at Calle de Alcala and not overlooking the Gran Via. It is locally known as the La Manzana de Canalejas.

this project has been proposed since 2007 and was brushed off during the recession . it has now regained new strength and FS i hear is still committed to this project. ( hpe all goes well )

The developer is Banco Santander and RA Capital.

dont have any recent links but this should do-

But if they expand the brand, I wish they would add branding categories:

FS Maui, FS Disney, FS BW: circus
FS GV, FS Mar, FS HK, FS Hua, FS PL, FS LA, FS Bos: top of the line
FX Whis, FS EPA, FS Hou: FS in name only

Etc.

MO
MO BKK: circus
MO LAS: top of the line
MO SIN: MO in name only

Pen

Looks like the new Toronto property will have Daniel Boulud setting up a restaurant.

Casablanca just signed - mixed use, mainly business, but right on the sea, so good for connecting flights into Marrakech, Fez etc. Should take a while to construct - 2013/2014 probably.

It's an interesting idea, and perhaps best applied to Ritz Carltons. Nonwithstanding the overall devaluation of the brand, some properties could easily be reflagged as Renaissances or JWs without too much of a fuss.

Cleveland, Pentagon City/Tysons Corner, Atlanta and SoBe all come to mind.

Four Seasons website
St. Petersburg
Opening early-2012
Within a nineteenth-century Russian royal palace, its entry guarded by two marble lions, Four Seasons reveals a restored treasure in the historic Admiralteysky District – just two blocks from the Hermitage Museum. ...

I would like to go in May 2012.
Do you think it will be open by then?
