It's an interesting idea, and perhaps best applied to Ritz Carltons. Nonwithstanding the overall devaluation of the brand, some properties could
easily be reflagged as Renaissances or JWs without too much of a fuss.
Cleveland, Pentagon City/Tysons Corner, Atlanta and SoBe all come to mind.
