There will be 3 Four Seasons Hotel in China this year, most likely Guangzhou will be open in May, Shanghai Pudong around August and Beijing end of September.

The one of the FS Guangzhou's mock room from Chinese blog http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_6791d225010118lt.html.

Sanjiv Hulugalle has been appointed as the pre-opening GM in Beijing, and his last position was GM at FS Maldives Kuda Huraa.

One more in Paris

A Russian Dude plans to build a 300-meter-tower in Paris - with a second Four Seasons in it:

The very large project in La Défense- quite a different location from the current Four Seasons.

executive vice president of worldwide development Scott Woroch

200-room Luxor hotel - 2013 - TMG
215-key El Gouna - 2014 - orascom - on hold

“In Luxor, they’ve undertaken a value engineering exercise to reduce the scope and scale of the project to allow it to move forward given the current environment. We had gotten fairly close to the end of the design phase, now they’ve said relook at this - there’s some things we can do that will allow us to save money and reduce the scale and scope of the project to allow it to move forward,”

...we’re focused on controlling expenses..Obviously the biggest expense is labour, so we’re just trying to be careful and responsive to the markets
if luxor is going to be less than 200 rooms, sounds great
but this could be referring to the original pre-lehman plans...

http://www.businesstraveller.com/mid...les-with-slump

Regional Director Cesare Rouchdy said it hasn't laid off any staff across its four properties

Sharm is reliant on Europe, and that’s holding its own," he said.

"With occupancies and average rates down, we’re having to add a lot more value-added deals."
TMG has rigorously pursued its visionary plans to construct a luxury hotel and a five-star Nile Cruiser in Luxor; both are to be managed by the four Seasons
luxor appears to be ongoing, same with this?
TMG is also developing FS madinaty

speaking of orascom, i wonder whats up with their amoun island (aswan) with LVMH/cheval blanc
huh, amoun used to be 50 room club med. owner (not orascom) political scandal >

I was chatting with the Director of Marketing at Four Seasons Lisbon, who also happens to be overseeing the Marketing for St. Petersburg, last evening and it appears FS St. Petersburg will be ready to open in October or so based upon a hard hat tour he took of the building last month.

He also revealed that there are plans for a Rome hotel which will be a new build. The owner's of FS Florence are behind the Rome project and won't come on-line until 2015.
