Hello all, we have a cnx in MUC in about 2 weeks. Our itinerary is EWR-BRU-MUC-SOF. All on one PNR, it's a UA ticket with UA metal to BRU, the rest is LH metal.
Will we be OK with a 50 minute connection in MUC on this itinerary? I'm assuming since we will have cleared EU in BRU the arrival into MUC will in essence be considered domestic, right?

Thanks to you both - I had figured inbound to MUC would be simple after already clearing in BRU, but suspected there'd be an additional step on the outbound to SOF due to non-Schengen...although Bulgaria seems to be well on its way to being Schengen. Have another trip coming up in fall/winter so maybe by then...

You'll, however, exit the Schengen area (Schengen is kind of "no passport control area", there is no such thing as "EU" in regard of travel, for example, the UK, and in your case, Romania, are not members of the Schengen area, while Switzerland is not a member of the EU, but is member of Schengen) at MUC, so you'll have a passport control in MUC. Exiting Schengen is usually rather quick in MUC, the only nasty thing sometimes in MUC is going from a non-Schengen country to the Schengen zone, which you might have on your return maybe? (then, 50min is really tight, even if legal - they'll rebook you on another connection if all on one ticket, so don't worry..)
edit: Obviously your question was already asked.. I shouldn't open 10 browser tabs and go through them without pressing F5 from time to time, FTers are too quick nowadays

Transfer time in MUC, From FRA to TLL
I wanted to get some input on a transfer in MUC that has been hit by a schedule change.
I originally arrived from FRA (departing at 7:35 am on LH 100 in Business) at 8:30 and departed to TLL (on LH 2436 in Economy) at 9:15. The flight to TLL now departs 9:05 which leaves a 35 minute window.
Both flights are via Terminal 2 to which I've never been. How tight is this?
We're travelling on a United FF ticket originating in JFK but were on all LH metal including the JFK-FRA leg.

Connecting from IST on UA award ticket
I have a 70 minute connection at MUC in September. I'll be flying LH C from IST-MUC and connecting to LH F for MUC-IAD. If the flight parks at a remote stand, will I get a ride from the plane to the FCL? Or, normal shuttle? If the IST-MUC flight is late, will they give me a ride direct to the MUC-IAD aircraft?
I had noticed the other day that the specific IST-MUC flight that I will be taking had arrived late into MUC such that were I on it, I would not have made the MUC-IAD flight. What is irrops handling at MUC like for LH F customers traveling on a UA award ticket?

I transferred there during the Christmas period, what a delight indeed! I hope the third runway incident will not caused MUC to be just another congested large european airport...
Although that was a transfer in the same terminal (2), what is the protocol for T1 to T2 ?
Regards.

MUC Arrival: Getting to LH Business Lounge
[Moderator - please move to MUC connections thread]
We're arriving at MUC from the United States (on a LH flight), and departing on the same day (on another *A airline). We have an all-day layover, so we'd like to catch a shower at the lounge and visit the city.
I know there is not an arrivals lounge in MUC; however, we are flying C so we should have access to the normal LH Business Lounges (both as arriving C passengers on LH, and departing C passengers on *A).
With the "new" arrivals setup in MUC, will we have to clear customs, exit the secure area, and then re-enter a secure area just to get to a lounge (and then exit again), or is there an easier way?

MUC Arrival: Getting to LH Business Lounge
There's a MUC T2 LH Business Lounge I showered in while transiting from US to UK. It is before customs.

Where is your destination (Schengen or non-Schengen)? LH Business Lounges are not arrival lounges but your departing BP should allow you access to one. Which Business you can access might depend on whether your connecting*A flight departs from a Schengen or non-Schengen gate.

I'm looking to book ORD-MUC-VIE with a 1h 25m connection in MUC.
I assume that MUC-VIE is Schengen?
So, in MUC, I would need to clear immigration and security with my hand-luggage. However, I do not need to collect my checked luggage, clear customs, and then re-check my luggage. Is this correct?
Do I clear customs with my checked luggage in VIE?
