Remember, all trash has to either be incinerated or shipped off the island, so there's not plastic anything provided. They use paper straws for drinks. You get two glass bottles of water (supposed to be because of status) and glassware in the room. Don't run off with the beach bag, it's $60!

Do water villas have US outlets? If not, which nation’s outlet-type is typically featured?

Anyone met the piano player Lang Lang in Rangali during his stay? Saw on Instagram that he celebrated his birthday at Ithaa yesterday.

Thanks for this, had completely forgotten to check - means we don’t have to bring any adapters then if they are all the UK style 3 pin plugs.

Yes, they are. It's a bit of a grainy picture, but here is the one in the bathroom (above the shavers only outlet) and the outlets next to the desk in the WV.

Also, I saw these for sale at my local supermarket last night. Chase Freedom has a 5% cash back for grocery store purchases. I was thinking of stocking up before my next visit:

Don't tell me you were so enthralled by the room that you didn't see or use them last time you went?!

Of course I used them!! I couldn’t remember - it’s been a while since we were there I hadn’t even thought of adaptors until it was mentioned here a couple of days ago so clearly my subconscious knew adaptors weren’t necessary!

Upgrades from Water Villa

Got back some unexpected numbers on a request for rates upgrading from water villa Jan 2020. At $260/nt for a superior water villa and $450/night for deluxe water villa, is the DWV more worth it for the extra space and separation? Are the DWV definitely being renovated this year? Can anyone comment on swimming in the current around the DWVs lately?

Find the difference in rates for your dates and ask them to match that.

Just FYI from CR

"Please note that Wine Cellar would be closed during your stay period (13-20 July) for some upgrading works in progress."

I just posted a question on the WA Maldives forum, but realized there is more activity on this forum. Don't want to create double responses so posting a link to the original post here is case anyone has some info they could share.

Thanks
