Why to Funchal via London and not direct? Okay now idiots keep the radiovoices down, I know...but.

would AY sell HEL-lgw-xxx tickets? Xxx meaning Caribbean or such.

Have you ever looked what the direct Funchal flights cost? I’m looking for October-November 2020. 700€ for one ticket. And we are 4. For that price I’d rather fly a bit more... And AY Funchal flights don’t have business class. And 2 more segments of course

Yes, TAP via Lisbon can be had for half the price, but the LIS-HEL schedule is awful.

Probably not a lot cheaper, though, to fly via LGW as I seem to recall you need a hotel both ways (did it once with separate tickets - won’t do that again).

You can also book an Aurinkomatkat package and not use the hotel.

LGW summer slots might not automatically mean that AY will re-open the HEL-LGW route. AY has seasonal flights from LGW to IVL (2/week) and KTT (1/week) in winter,

According to the piece of news, Finnair would continue flying to Nur-Sultan (Astana) but also start flying to Almaty. Interesting!

Under the «open skies» regime, introduced by the order of the Head of State, the number of frequencies between countries has been increased to 14 flights a week, namely, the Helsinki – Nur-Sultan route to 7 flights, the Helsinki – Almaty route to 7 flights. For 3 years, Finnair Airlines has operated flights on the Nur Sultan - Helsinki route. Based on the newly reached agreements, it is planned to expand the number of flights to Nur Sultan and open flights to Almaty.

Almaty being the more interesting city in Kazakhstan for anything that isn't government or weird architecture, this is a nice addition. My anecdotal experience with TSE flights has been a very heavy load of passengers, largely locals.

Again. This must be the third time AY introduces a midday service to HAM. Then it's quietly axed at some point...

This is great news for me! Interestingly the new morning flight to Hamburg at 07.10 will be too early for many of the domestic connection flights. At the moment AY has very few flights before 7.30 but maybe the aircraft is needed quickly back at HEL to make another round trip before the afternoon wave. Also the midday departure ex-HAM arrives at HEL quite late for some of the local connections.

Well I guess they want to get rid of the current situation where the morning flight waits at the apron in HAM for approx 2,5h before before flying back to HEL. Not very good aircraft utilization that.
