?!?
They basically already has that, as upgrades are U bucket, ie same as award seats. The problem is the availability. What's the point of building this "new" function when all it would do is to return "no flights found, please try other dates" FOr the optimist her wording could indicate the long rumoured function of publishing upgrade seats only to higher tier members. Don't hold your breath. They have claimed this for years and we will all have lost platinum tier before it's launched, if ever. Finnair has lost all credibility in loyalty. Burn points, move on. |

Was there an app update or were I just late to upgrade? Not a huge fan.

Checking in today was interesting: on app the rows containing "economy comfort" seats were not selectable. This both on Android and iOS. On the web page they were selectable.
Is this a known "feature"? |
Ticket bought during triple promo for ARN-HEL-SIN-HEL itinerary. HEL-SIN and SIN-HEL segments waitlisted for business upgrade. HEL-SIN didn't clear, SIN-HEL cleared. ARN-HEL and SIN-HEL posted with the 3X points; HEL-SIN earned regular points... Gotta love the total inconsistency.

Return trip booked. Upgrade waitlisted for inbound (return) leg. Can't edit seat selection, meals, etc. in MMB for the outbound leg (no upgrade applied) because of the waitlist on the other leg 🤔 can't do any of this on RJ either

Could be wrong, but I think after waitlisting the only way to edit a seat selection is to contact AY CS.

Exactly, that was the complaint :D that I can't edit seat selection on the non-waitlisted flight

I have a flight, where I waitlisted another departure (ie booked AYxxx, waitlisted on AYyyy). As expected both were visible in MMB, with the waitlisted showing no seat selected.
Now, MMB shows the waitlisted flight with a assigned seat. I first assumed this meant the waitlist have cleared and all is good. However, I've not been issued a new e-ticket and if I try to request one from MMB, it just returns an error. If I pull the reservation on checkmytrip, it show the original flight as "Confirmed" and the waitlisted with seat but status "Unknown". What is the consensus on this - all is good or do I need to get AY to actually issue a new eticket? This flight is next week and for over 3 weeks it has had the waitlisted upgrade cleared but no new e-ticket. And I know cleared waitlists very often "get stuck" and the ticket is never "updated" or what-ever the term is. And I know the right thing to do is to call and have them remind the person who is re-issuing tickets to do his job. I just couldn't be bothered with this toy-airline and their flawed processes, so I ignored the problem. Now and then I checked MMB just to see nothing had happened and both flights were still there. The flight is one segment BA and one AY, and today BA sent me their pre-departure mail. This triggered me to go to ba.com to see the cabin and change seat to a better one. Once done, I was sent confimration by ba for the seat change and within the same minute Finnair issued a new e-ticket with the waitlisted flight and removed the other confirmed flight from MMB. This can't be a coincidence. As soon as BA touched the reservation, Finnair updated the e-ticket with the waitlist cleared. A very interesting work-around to fix the bug with cleared waitlist getting stuck. You just need one segment on another airline and then you can resolve finnair stuck waitlist yourself... |
