Last night: some huge ribs in chilli sauce (more of a gravy but with red peppers) and lovely crisp vegetables in a white sauce.

Our first truly fresh and tasty vegetables in a couple of weeks, from our local 'club'. Good to be home for this kind of food

Previous night: last night in HNL, took kaukau's recommendation for happy hour(s) at the HNL Harbor Bar, for a BBQ chicken pizza (better than it sounds, a bit of an Aussie thing!) and drinks. A real local crowd!

We ended back at the Chart House (after cocktails at Canoes at the Illikai) for lots more food and drinks, plus the great house band 2.5. Recommended!
Steak fries at the Chart House are actually what I would call potato wedges! Mrs B enjoyed New England Clam Chowder while I had calamari.

Mmmmmmmm!

What kind of flavour does the hickory impact on the steak?

Tonight our menu includes...

Frenched rack of lamb
Baked potatoes and carrots
Gravy (can't remember it!)

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Maybe some chocolate for dessert, and who knows what.

Our July 4th fare with friends and kids consisted of barbequed hot dogs, homemade chili, washed down with either beer or proscecco. SusieCakes cupcakes for dessert. Lemonade for the kiddies. Not fancy fare, but everyone was happy . So glad we ate those hot dogs before catching a bit of that disgusting hot-dog-eating competition.

You know, I'm trying to think of a way to answer this other than saying "hickory smoke flavor," but that's what it is. Don't know if they sell Liquid Smoke down under, but if they do get a bottle of the hickory flavored and try it. A sniff of it will give tell you more than a thousand words
