I bought Indomie months ago to see what all the Indo hubbub is about. I didn’t drain the water as the instructions say, and squeezed in all 5 flavor packets - seasoning powder, friend onion bits, seasoning oil, sweet soy sauce, and chili sauce. Whew, the outside of my mouth was tingling and my nose was running and this isn’t even the spicy version. The next one, I’m definitely going to drain the water and use a few drops of chili sauce.

Looking at the package to take this photo, I see the Best By date is July 2021. 😃

On a slice of sourdough toast.

Looks pretty darn good! Ah, not sure a single slice would be enough for me though! LOL

I had my McIntosh apple and 15 Veggie Straws (spicy). So far I am generally behaving myself today.

I’ve been trying to find some local Chinese restaurants to try out in a 5 mile radius. I found one with reasonable lunch specials and ordered one for everyone, including my Ex-wife who is staying with my oldest daughter nearby. I actually used to frequent a Chinese restaurant that was at this location about 30 years ago, called Big Wong II. I don’t think this current restaurant is related to it.

I got one of my old favorites, prawns with mayonnaise and walnuts. I was introduced to it by a ABC friend of mine.

I actually really love eating bok choy.

You need to grow it yourself. It’s practically free then. It’s a good winter crop. I probably have a few more weeks until I can harvest.

Second breakfast in the SFO Sky Club is a cheese omelet, pork sausage, homestyle potatoes, and a cranberry mimosa.

I'm hoping they roll out lunch at 11, because my flight boards at 11:30 and no real food until I get to ATL.

this is why I buy airport food. The flight is already $500 so another $40 for banh mi Etc is no big deal. Why feel hungry on a plane, esp if there’s a bonus 3 hour delay.

Yup, and SFO has so many quality food offerings.

It is the sale price for all the 12 cheeses every day of the sale!!
My WF had them in a special cooler. So I bought:
Agour Ossau--6 months aged sheep cheese. ( a new one to me)
Cave aged gruyere
and of course---Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog
30% off plus additional 10% for Prime and I saved quite a bit.

Oh! I'll be headed there tomorrow!

Dinner: garden salad with grilled chicken. Also one chicken wing, a couple of waffle fries, and two disgusting fried pickles.

Just had a key lime greek yogurt as a dessert. Yum :)

cold pizza the next day :D

Me too!

However one can take it too far: the guy across the hall from me in my dorm in college used to cut up cold pizza into small squares, put it in a bowl, pour milk over and have for breakfast.

My dad brought me a tamale. All he could remember is that he thought it was vegetarian, it was $5, and was from a pop up. It’s jackfruit! Not great, but not terrible either.

That is disgusting!!! :(

Growing up and even now, anytime there is leftover pizza I will wrap individual slices in aluminum foil and put them right into the fridge. After that they can be prepared three ways:
  • Enjoyed cold
  • Heated up in the toaster oven or a frying pan (NOT the microwave)
  • The Pizza Omelet & Toast
The latter option involves scraping the cheese and sauce off the pizza and making an omelet with it; you can then take the remaining crust and heat it in a toaster oven to make toast to have with your omelet. My dad used to make that for me when I was a kid and it is one of the most wonderful things. I don't eat pizza nearly as much as I used to but anytime I ever have leftover pizza I plan on doing this.

Occasionally there is a (Venezuelan?) tamale cart in my neighborhood. I haven't had a tamale in the better part of a decade, and that was the only time I've ever had one. I really need to try it again.

Traveling tomorrow, so no cooking today as we are packing! We got sushi, sashimi, and chicken tenders to snack on all day with plenty of noodles!

I've done that! Usually I just heat up the pizza in a skillet and have a couple of scrambled eggs with it, But I have done that same thing more than once.
