This - halal guys or any similar is the perfect fast meal. Nyc pizza is like Costco pizza slices although more topping choices. We have no real version of halal guys in California.
The cucumber was still good! So I sliced it up and had it with a Russian dressing style dip. -J. |

Costco pizza is nothing like NYC pizza. I think you are overdue for a trip out here to taste the difference yourself :)

LOL...yeah, seriously! It's not even close. This would be one of those rare blindfolded taste tests where I'd be able to pick out the NYC pizza--made from anywhere in the city--every time without fail over the Costco one.

Dinner tonight was from Oba Grill (not to be confused with Opa Grille in Bethpage, which I think is better), pickup option from DoorDash.
Calamari Salad (arugula, kirby, tomato, onion, lemon juice and olive oil topped with grilled calamari) https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...932eb4b8a8.jpg Also got a chicken adana sandwich to have tomorrow or more likely Sunday. The food here is hit or miss -- it is either really good, or terrible. The salad is the first "in between" item I've ever had. Not bad at all, but certainly not spectacular. -J. |

Absolutely not :o Halal Guys is good but you can do a lot better. The best falafel is on 46th Street at 6th Avenue on the north side of the street. As for halal meat dishes, I don't have a favorite but it certainly is not The Halal Guys. Costco pizza is nothing like NYC pizza. I think you are overdue for a trip out here to taste the difference yourself :)…
i do like Costco pizza when eaten within a few minutes of purchase. I was last in nyc in 2010 - I live in a city and prefer non-cities for vacation. |

Tonight we ate leftover pasta and meatballs, ham, zucchini, salad and cabbage.

gorgeous. I’m still always weirded out by all the savory foods at “breakfast” because most can (“should”) be served at luncheon. I love dim sum after 10:30 and as a second meal of the day… not first. All the visits to China and HK and Taiwan and I just never got it. I forgot what breakfast was like when I went to bkk / Penang (my) during my younger years.

Breakfast at the SGS is served until 11 am so we enjoy the offerings until satisfied, take a snack for lunch (if hungry), and then just have dinner after happy hour.

Room service steak & eggs and a large pot of coffee. Steak was overcooked, naturally. Is it just me, or when ordering steak at anything other than a good steakhouse, it comes out medium well to medium regardless.

Leftover Arizmendi scones & House of Bagels poppyseed bagel with strawberry cream cheese & honey butter

Had the chicken adana sandwich which wasn't great... on par for Oba. I will not get that again.
My plans this weekend have changed slightly and I am brining food to a party tomorrow instead of today, so now I am having a can of Progresso Light Chicken Noodle Soup with the broth drained out, and no-sodium chicken bouillon added. Cuts out about 75% of the sodium and some calories as well.

pretty sure original Joe’s can still do it as a perfect medium rare. Have you tried ordering RARE steak for room service, so that during transit it cooks to medium rare?
