Lunch@Torbay
Lasagne verdi, a prolific supply of home done garlic bread and a Marlborough Pinot Noir. Extreme sun but a cold breeze in the shadows.
Tonight@Torbay, a KG of shell on prawns from Brixham to be picked and delected, and I fear another ton of garlic bread and a bottle of excessively cheap but well frozen Grigio. I am hoping to convince her that a bit of Ben and Jerrys caramel chew chew is the thing to follow. Nespresso very dark pods will follow with a slug of Torres Brandy for me with loud tutting from her after the fourth glass.

We are fortunate to have a second home overlooking the beach at Goodrington and Brixham over the bay and spend around 20% of our UK time here.
The best I'd say is The Seahorse Restaurant owned by Mich Tonks at Dartmouth an Simon Hulstone's The Elephant in Torquay. We drink at a the Cherub in Dartmouth.
i'm not much use as I cook and we eat well in and have fish and seafood deliveries from Cornwall so don't eat out much.

This little bisto around the corner does really interesting Polish food.

I like The Seahorse too but will try The Elephant on our Christmas visit.
It's a nice spot for a second home, alright, but even better when it's a fifth home owned by a filthy rich brother who rarely uses it !

In fact we owe the house to a trip to Dartmouth. We were staying at a lovely property in Kingswear and my wife was bored so I sent her on the steam train to Paignton. She saw a lovely traffic free beach on the way - Goodrington - and by the end of that weekend we bought this house. We had been looking for years for a house on a beach with no traffic. Expensive trip.

In Hindi, bhaji is generally a vegetable preparation, with gravy or on the dry side as in " Pav Bhaji" bread and bhaji.
Pakora are known as bhajiya also ...veggies dipped in batter and deep fried. Served with hot and sweet chutneys.
I will think of you as I eat sev - usal at a very famous roadside vendor. Will take photos.

Ys pani puri. darn auto correct !
PS You should be able to buy panipuri kits in UK (more stores carry that than Fish and Chips )

I really do need to get the family out for Peking Duck. Couple of weeks ago, I took my family out to get some Peking Duck, and we ended up doing the hot pot cooking on our table. The buffet was full of raw meat, seafood, noodles, veggies, etc. An array of dipping sauces was available for our use.
The cucumbers in the Peking duck gives it a nice fresh taste. I've never tried lettuce in Peking duck wraps before.
Yesterday, we went to a Korean BBQ and Sushi place on Macleod Trail Calgary. I was in Unagi heaven!

Is that something found all over India? I don't recall.

Lunch: Leftover mushroom risotto with bits of trotter braised in wine and aromatics.
Planning dinner to be homemade fresh ramen, tea egg, assorted roasted veg in a ginger pig trotter soup base.

A wonderful tin of sardines, with red oinion, salad cream, red wine vinegar in a Hovis sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Followed by walnuts and later some freshly roasted chestnuts.
I really love tinned sardines and really regret scoffing several tins I'd "laid down" and were around 12 years old. I've just bought 100 tins which I have stored and I'm determined to leave them alone.

I did a pasta dish last week so tonight is leftovers. Vermicilli pasta with alfredo sauce, shrimp and lobster and some garlic bread. Should be great ^
