Last night for dinner I went to The Hamilton in Washington D.C. and had chili, and wings with Mumbo Sauce (a big D.C. thing apparently) plus a Caesar Salad and rosemary Parmesan potatoes. It was an absolutely excellent meal, especially as I had Goose Island Honkers Ale to wash it down ^

Boring morning thus far: granola bar, bagel and coffee. But I'm going to Fogo de Chao for dinner tonight so all will be well ^^

I have to make do with what I can get. The only thing that comes in a shell here is a nut.

This weekend:

Today: Moules Mariniere (currently reducing the wine ...... )
Saturday: Fresh Sea Bass
Sunday: Salmon parcels
Monday: Soles Mueniere

Evening: Some frozen shell-on prawns with some fresh bread ......

We take a delivery every week or two from Martins Seafresh - it is the most wonderful service. Really fresh fish delivered by lunchtime from Cornwall. So you order any time up to midnight on day one and it arrives by FedEx before lunch on day 3.

Each week they enclose a complimentery 7.95 voucher to be used by a new customer so if there is anyone in the UK that wants to give them a try PM me and I'll send a number - or my next one - but please only ask for the voucher number if you are going to use it straight away so as not to deprive anyone else. I currently have two I can offer .....

A lovely fishy weekend ....

ps ...... Pecheur - a really lovely crisp fresh zingy white wine is 20% off at Ocado at the moment bringing it down to 4 a bottle ...... a taste of the South Of France on a rainy October day .... cannot recommend it more highly .... our daily house white ...

A dry and gently aromatic blend of local grapes from the Gascony area region of the south of France. This wine is designed as an easy going blend, and is equally well suited to glugging at parties, or to drinking with simple fish dishes. A very refreshing wine that’s astonishingly good value. Exclusive to Waitrose.
.... and Ocado ....

Ate an outstanding chicken and vegetable curry dish, stir fried style yesterday. Perfect with jasmine tea (cha).

Curry is an antioxidant and is touted to reduce to chances of cancer. When it tastes this good, I can't complain.

Went to lunch with my Dad today at our usual spot in Durham, a shrimp shack called Fishmonger's. I had fish n' chips. Then leftover fettuccine Alfredo and chicken for dinner. Lots o' protein for me!

Dinner tonight will be lamb shawarma, fresh pita and hummus alongside greens tossed with a bit of balsamic and olive oil. I will likely open one of variety of different red Rhones I have on hand...

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Traeger pellet grill last week. I made this Santa Maria style tri-tip day before yesterday, and finished up the leftovers tonight.

Why, oh why didn't I do this sooner... Check out the smoke ring, and it's still medium rare.^^

Breakfast: Cinnamon Roll French Toast at Another Broken Egg Cafe (with a side of bacon, of course). It was really good and so rich it didn't need syrup.

Dinner: Chicken kabobs with rice and veggies
