So usually I get oat milk if I am doing non-cow milk. When we lived in Maine I used to get cow milk from a local dairy down the road. When I amassed enough empty bottles I'd take them to the dairy for a refund and an ice cream cone. I miss that here…

It’s not easy. Of course I’m sure that almond milk is tastier than oat. One day I’ll have to compare.

It does, although almond milk also kills billions of bees each year.

Dinner was salad (mixed greens, roasted red pepper, white onion, tomato) with grilled chicken (with red wine vinegar and black pepper), and a steamed chicken bun from the Japanese bakery (though I only really ate the chicken). They were sold out of veggie buns :(

I also got some kimchi to try since the bodega I went to is Korean. It is not great. I'll have it with other stuff but I won't buy it again.

Lets compare them all. Include soy, cashew and coconut milks.

Actually let's take such further comparison/discussion to a new thread and keep this thread's focus on what folks have been eating. Thanks!

Didn't want to register, but I wouldn't be surprised. There are likely ways to mitigate cow's drinking... That said, I think the beef (pun not intended) is that since California is in perpetual drought, the water could be better used. If another area that could produce them and wasn't in such a bad water position, then I think the blowback wouldn't be as bad.

I had to sit there for a bit and think because I've only known it as pie tee...

One of my aunts used to make great poh piah... my cousin has taken over that duty, but it does bring back memories.

All I had was satay beef hor fun tonight. But now I'm hungry again... I have some instant laksa (Prima)... maybe I'll go out tomorrow and grab some beansprouts and a few other ingredients...

Breakfast today was pancakes from Aunt Jemima mix. Probably over a year since I've had pancakes. Real maple syrup(Costco), 3 scrambled eggs, and 2 Johnsonville pork sausage patties. Yum.

I think they changed the name from Aunt Jemima recently. Apparently it was racist

I am having a cucumber with a tomato dip I made.

Yeah they did, but my box still says Aunt Jemima. :) Maybe a collector's item? Plus I'm older so I'll probably always call it Aunt Jemima. She's been around all my life.

They did change the name to Pearl Milling Company.

I’m so happy to just buy box mix. All thanks to you. I use your 40 years of grilling chicken as the expert status so if braslvr eats boxed pancakes, then so shall I. Big yay.

I love Korean food so much. There are 5 different great Korean spots for my bestie and me to enjoy for our weekly luncheons. I just know that at some point they’ll want non-Korean and I’ll have to say Yes.
