Just had a cup of mixed Osem onion and beef consommés.

Fasting is done. I made soup with leftover juicing vegetables and a fistful of rice. And now I have the biggest craving for the tortilla chips taunting me from the pantry.

Very plentiful at this time of year and often cheaper than steak besides being much healthier and tastier!

Breakfast... a pan dulce.

Just had a bowl of oatmeal with cranberries and some wild blueberry syrup. A sweet afternoon snack :)

How do you do your jerk chicken? The new recipe thread has got me planning to try it the next time I cook chicken.
My eating habits will be changing very soon as I am finally getting a replacement refrigerator on Friday. -J. |

I get it from a cart, name of Jamrock Jerk. I like it but not enough to make it myself.

I put a jar of arrabiata in my online grocery cart last week, but I might just add a pinch of red pepper flakes to whichever version Costco sells.
How do you do your jerk chicken? The new recipe thread has got me planning to try it the next time I cook chicken. 1) Buy jerk seasoning and jerk sauce. Marinate chicken. Place in oven and cook. 2) Same as 1, except you cook it slowly on a grill or smoker with green pimento wood. 3) For the hard core! Get a big oil barrel that has been cleaned. Cook it slowly over coals with the same pimento wood, seasonings and sauce. Buy plenty of Red Stripe beer. Every time you finish a bottle…jerk the chicken in the barrel. (This is authentic Jamaican style). Just remember to cook slowly. Too much heat will dry out the chicken. Enjoy! |
Dinner tonight: rest of the jerk chicken, sweet potato

Oh, everything they have looks really good. I love that they sell containers of meat-only for the same price as the meat / rice / veg boxes.

Today’s effort at Kouign-amann. I think if I made it every day for a week, I could perfect it. But, I’d end up weighing 350 lbs. in the process |
I made chicken tikka last night for dinner and had some for breakfast.
