Decided to wait until 11 to have breakfast. Tried doing an Asian-inspired oatmeal with ginger, a little bit of soy sauce, and some red pepper flakes. Wasn't bad especially since I prefer savory oatmeal, but not sure if I will do it again soon. I probably could have used more ginger.

Lunch will be a turkey burger and a cucumber :)

To my USA-based friends: Subway has a BOGO deal that ends on Friday. I will do that Thursday night.

Lunch at the Columbia restaurant in St Augustine (the original is in Ybor City).

Ropa Vieja
Mahi Cubano
Sangria Tinto

The Ropa Vieja was excellent. And the sangria was perfect. But Mrs BV said the napkin would have had more flavor than the fish. Too bad. Pretty place, but the acoustics are awful. The place is 100% tile.

Safeway had bone-in NY steaks last week for $4.99/LB. Cut 1.5+ inches thick, and very little bone. We bought a pack of 4 and grilled one. 2 of us couldn't finish it. Outstanding steak! I went back and bought 4 more to freeze.

breakfast... peach yogurt and leftover pizza

Breakfast: oatmeal and an egg. Haven't had homemade eggs since August when my refrigerator broke. Getting a new one tomorrow!

-J.

Lunch: turkey burger, steamed mixed veggies with garlic sauce, Miracle Noodle hearts of palm noodle with oil and balsamic vinegar.

The noodles are ok, a little mushy but they are thick which I like. I don't know if I will buy these again but I have five cans to go.

how do you do the eggplant part? Do you need to slice it and let it dry out for awhile? I really struggle with eggplant and recipes seem to infer a 30-60 minute dry out period.

I love white bait. Best I ever had was in a place on some side street in Cannes. Must have been a hundred of them. I struggled to finish half.
