For lunch today, spaghetti with pink sauce, brisket, vegies and home-made dressing (shallots with EVO and balsamic vinegar).

Made couple loaves of banana bread without sugar or butter. Used reconstituted dried banana slices in rum, EVO, 6 eggs, roasted pistachios, dates, Molasses syrup, flour & psyllium.

Also, regarding the spicy eggplant salad, we used to make it with grilled eggplants but discovered an easier and less messy way as shown in the above video. This was after enjoying the Thai eggplant salad at the legendary hole-in-the-wall Chote Chitr at Banglamphu in the old section of Bangkok. The grilled eggplant is soaked in that good sauce and served with chilis, chicken, and shrimp.

A friend sent me this chocolate as a gift. Decided to use it to celebrate the end of the week.

How was it? I love red wine with chocolate.

It was fantastic. Deep but smooth. The red wine tasted better with it. I plan to try it with whiskey or bourbon next. Just needed a bite or two to enjoy it, which was perfect.

Our favorite butcher (Paulina, for Chicagoans) has a sandwich counter and makes what I think of as NJ-style subs. They are packed with meat and cheese, and delicious! (Also messy.) We split one for lunch and it hit the spot.

Late lunch is spaghetti al aglio e olio again, but with asparagus added, plus roasted acorn squash and eggplant. I also roasted a head of garlic for later.

Avocado toast for breakfast .
lunch was a picnic at botanical gardens--real turkey breast sandwich on sourdough with avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese, mustard and mayo.

Building my Bento,

This is what I think I see: Avocado, Salmon, Onion, Tomato, Cucumber, Cream Cheese, and something else on a toasted Everything Bagel. Is that something else a fried egg with a runny yolk? Did I miss anything else?

Yum, yum, yum!!!!!

Despite my relative dislike of Montreal bagels, Mr CE made a great bagel, bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It was no Beauty's https://beautys.ca/, but was pretty awesome.

Somehow, bacon on a bagel does not sound kosher. ;)

I made a Costco rotisserie chicken bagelwich on Zucker’s sesame and everything bagels. Toasted with melted spicy pepperjack. Hit the spot!

Got a surprise Sunday delivery of a variety of 3 Liberty Orchards boxes. Decided to try the Locoum Delights first. Very tasty, so far everyone likes them. I hate to see long running businesses going out if business. Figured, I’d like to try them out before they’re gone.
