what time do you wake? I’m up by 7 and hungry by 8 for sure.

I am up before 7 to get my 2 kids up around 7:20 to be ready for school. Online distant schooling starts at 7:55 & 8:05 respectively.

I have taught myself to eat when I am hungry and stop eating when I am satisfied. I made the mistake when I was younger (was raised that way) to finish my plate. Now, I stop when I'm full but I hardly throw any unspoiled/unsoiled food away. Usually saran wrap and refrigerate it for later consumption.

Agreed about leftovers and eating them later... but I cannot wait hours after waking up for food :-)

The sodium content is 63% of the recommended daily allowance! I ate the banana, for the potassium, to counteract some of the sodium. 🤞

I have to acknowledge that this just sounds so gross - I don’t know if I could ever eat these curry noodles again and I definitely couldn’t return to that shop.

I’d say that 70% of my produce that I eat comes from outside the US. Washing susceptible produce is important. More likely to get sick from e.coli contaminated stuff.

Almost every retailer sells soaps and detergents. They should never mix! At the first taste of something like that, I’d toss it.

It’s essential to rinse this stuff!

It’s such a foul taste.

Ugh, I really need to learn that. It's really hard to stop eating when there's still food in front of me.

Here is some of what we have been enjoying

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...50794b81c.jpeg
Tuna bergedel , pork & mutton satay , Nonya chap chye , roast chicken - you see dark sweet sauce , satay gravy along with pineapple sauce ( for the Chinese pork satay )
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...93e5243b9.jpeg
Kueh pie tie - has turnip , etc filling topped with prawn . Not shown the coriander / parsley garnish , chilli sauce , dark sweet sauce to taste
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...1beb3e220.jpeg
Kueh salat

The tuna bergedel ( in this meal , tuna potato patty ) and Nonya chap chye was home cooked . Desserts including a sugee cake baked by a friend , not in photo , were gifts .
The kueh salat rice layer had 3 tiers - usually only one , sometimes marbled . Here we have 2 tiers with blue pea flower colouring , at least hopefully not a blue dye !

And , we did have chicken rice :)

I've learned that. I either pack up the rest for another meal or just throw it out. It is tough to throw out food, but sometimes, that's the better option for me.

Another tofu/bok choy soup as I try to combat a cold... added with both ginger & garlic

Kalboz Oct 31, 2020 6:20 pm

Made some apple cake for halloween following a recipe from Milk Street Kitchen! Forgot to add the Cognac to the apples! ;(
