Taking a break from keto, so this morning I indulged in a fried egg sandwich, with american "cheese", sriracha, and mayo on whole wheat.

And a couple of cups of Balinese Inten Dewata coffee.

Last night I ventured into Japanese cookery and made oyakodon, a delicious chicken and egg dish over rice. (this was the basic idea)

In a pan, a cup of hondashi, some sake, soy sauce, and a little sugar. Let it come to a boil, then add a sliced onion. Let that get happy for a few mins, then add some sliced chicken thigh. Let that cook for 5 mins or so, then drizzle in a couple of scrambled eggs. Cover and let cook for a couple of minutes. Spoon over hot rice.

I recently discovered the local Asian market. Now I can make all the things I've been wanting to make from my Thai cookbook!

Chicken / vegetable curry, albeit a weird coffee brown color. Maybe it’s the tumeric.

costco Mandu (korean beef bulgogi pot stickers

What is in the small bowl? A dipping sauce, I assume.

Condensed milk (sweet milk) as a dipping sauce! :)

Prawns and those chips only a fish and chip place can do. They get cooked in the same oil as the battered fish so they get a bit of a fish taste and it's delicious.

Attempted to make a Clafoutis with dried apricots (that I marinated with Grand Marnier and sugar) and screwed it up by using too much flour. It became like a giant pancake with caramelized apricots at the bottom. Looks disastrous but it tastes like Panettone!

Midnight stress eating after seeing end of season 4 of DCI Banks! Omg

5 Mandu (beef bulgogi dumplings), boiled in water with bok choy

I’m going to digest this while watching season 5 episodes 1/2 (they’re all 2-episode long cliff hangers) and I took a 2-hr nap earlier today.

Spent much of yesterday afternoon preparing the chicken biryani recipe from . Wow! It was so worth it and, I think, the best biryani I've ever had, even surpassing the one I had thought was unbeatable from the Imperial in Delhi. It's a complicated recipe, requiring a handful of ingredients which need to be bought from either Amazon or a specialist Indian grocer, but not impossible and so worth it. Highly recommended.

Lovely
How do you do the curry part of the shrimp?
