Tainan noodles in very basic chicken thigh soup with boiled chicken thigh, cabbage, carrot, and celery. It’s super hot outside so I didn’t want to grill or sauté anything. Boiled was best.

Fixed myself a nice little table for high tea time at home ... no need for executive benefits! ;)

Split bone-in turkey breast brined overnight, going on the Traeger smoker now. Accompanied by a broccoli rice cheese casserole.

Exactly. If I ate only what I wanted to as a child, I would've consumed nothing but chicken fingers, french fries, hot dogs, and hamburgers with the occasional pizza slice.

My parents love to tell a story of how when I was probably 4 or 5, we went to a folk festival. They had tons of different ethnic foods from various countries and every time they asked me what I wanted, I said I wanted a hot dog.

I don't think it's safe to hold a banquet in your home these days. ;)

OMG, please tell me there is a "Traeger for Dummies" thread somewhere on FT. I've not done well. And when I turn it on, with the sound of the whooshing, in my mind, I see the PG&E meter wildly spinning even though I read somewhere it only costs cents to run it.

Combo laksa from a stall up at the markets.

All I can say, is I wish I would have bought it years sooner. Absolute best $325 I've ever spent on a cooking appliance. (Traeger Jr.) If I only used it for pork ribs a few times a year it would be worth it, but I use it 2-4 times a month year round. I wont do ribs, pulled pork, tri-tip, or salmon any other way. Also pastrami, smoked turkey, and brisket though I haven't perfected the brisket yet. Not sure why you haven't done well. As long as you only use 180 or 225 degrees and a remote meat thermometer, it's almost foolproof.

Do you add anything to your brine or it's just salty water.

I start with the standard 1 cup kosher salt and 1/2 to 1 cup sugar in 1 gallon of water. I've been experimenting with herbs and spices but haven't noticed that much gets imparted into the meat.

Fresh raspberry and mini chocolate chip pancakes. I feel (and look) like a swallowed a basketball.
